Q: How many stages of the SSC JE examination will conduct in 2020?

The SSC JE Exam is conducted in two stages: <ul><li>Tier-I Exam </li><li>Tier-II Exam</li></ul>Tier-I Exam is a computer-based test and the exam is conducted for 200 marks whereas Tier-II Exam is a descriptive test (pen &amp; paper mode) and the question paper is for 300 marks. Three years Diploma or equivalent in Civil Engineering or Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering from an institution recognized by the Central Government or State Government is valid to apply the SSC JE Exam. Diploma degree from Private or govt. institutions, Correspondence Diploma certificates from recognized institutions, Diploma Equivalent courses which are done by EX Servicemen from Armed forces are also valid to apply for SSC JE.

Q: What is the age limit for the General category into SSC JE post?

For General category, age limit vary as per department allocations through SSC JE exams which is as follows: up to 32 years ( CWC, CPWD ) 18-27 years (Department of Post ) 18-27 years ( MES-Military engineering services )

Q: Are there any specifications for uploading photo and signature in the application form of SSC JE Exam?

Yes. Candidates need to follow certain specifications while uploading photos and signature in the application of the SSC JE Exam. The size of the photo should be 4 to 20 KB and the signature should be between 1 to 12 KB. Both Photo and signature should be uploaded only in JPEG format.

Q: What is the average salary of SSC JE employees?

All the junior engineers recruited through SSC are Non-Gazetted employees under Group B in Level-6 and have a pay scale of 35400-112400 INR of pay matrix after 7th central pay commission. The average salary for SSC JE employees is decided separately for each level and all the allowances also depend on the level of the pay scale.

07th October 2020: Revised Exam Schedule Released

As per the recent announcement, the exam date for Paper 1 and 2 has been changed.
The SSC JE Paper I 2019-20 is rescheduled on December 12, 2020, for candidates who opted for Examination Centres in Bihar while for others it remains the same.
The SSC JE Paper-II 2019-20 Exam date is rescheduled to March 31, 2021. Check Official Notice

21st July 2020: Revised Paper 1 Exam Date

The Staff Selection Commission announced the new exam dates for the SSC JE Paper 1 Exam.
The first stage of Junior Engineer Exam for all disciplines will be held from October 27 - 30, 2020 in online mode. Due to the current situation, the exam dates are postponed again.
Candidates are advised to go through the detailed Exam Date Notice to know about the exam schedule.

1st June 2020: New Paper 1 Exam Date Released

The Staff Selection Commission announced the new exam dates for the SSC JE Paper 1 Exam.
The first stage of Junior Engineer Exam for all disciplines will be held from September 01 - 04, 2020 in online mode.

16th April 2020: Postponement of Paper 1 Exam

The Staff Selection Commission conducted a meeting regarding the review of the current situation. The SSC JE Paper 2 Exam 2020 is postponed and the decision for new SSC JE Exam Date for paper 2 will be taken only after 3rd May 2020.

30 March 2020 - 02 April 2020: Paper 1 Exam Date

The SSC JE Tier-I Exam is scheduled to be conducted starting from 30 March 2020. And the last date of the exam is on 02 April 2020. However, the exam dates are postponed.

18th March 2020: Admit Card for 2019-20 Paper 1 Exam Released

Candidates were able to download the SSC JE Admit Card 2020 for Tier-I Exam. It is mandatory to carry the admit card to the examination center.

29th December 2019: Paper 2 Exam

The SSC JE Paper 2 Exam 2019 was conducted on 29th December. It was a descriptive examination.

24th December 2019 - 23 January 2020: Scorecard Released

Students can start downloading their results from 24 December 2019. The last date for downloading the result for the year 2018-19 was 23 January 2020.

12th December 2019: Paper 1 Result Declared

The result of SSC JE Paper-I was declared by the commission. And students were given one month time period to check their result by visiting the official website.

14 - 17 October 2019: Answer Key Released

Candidates can check their answer key and raise objections if any from 14 October 2019 to 17 October 2019.

23 - 27 September 2019: SSC JE Paper 1 Exam

The SSC JE Paper-I exam was held for the year 2018-19. A total number of 3,77,133 candidates have appeared in the Examination.

13th August - 12 September 2019: Application Process

Candidates willing to apply for the exam can start the online registration from August 13, 2019. The last date to fill the SSC JE Application form was announced as September 12, 2019

13th August 2019: Notification of Recruitment for Junior Engineers

The commission released the official SSC JE Exam Notification for the year 2019-20.
The notification is an important document released the exam authorities to inform candidates about the recruitment.

What is SSC JE?

The SSC JE is a highly competitive examination conducted every year to recruit suitable candidates as Junior Engineer in civil, mechanical and electrical engineering, Quantity Surveying, and Contract branches under various Ministries/ Departments/ Organizations in the Government of India. All posts are categorized under Group-B posts that mean Non-Gazetted posts. Many students will apply every year for SSC JE due to its high paid salary and extra allowances. SSC JE Exam is conducted in two stages: Prelims and Mains. Candidates who will clear the preliminary round of the SSC JE exam will qualify for Mains examination as the next stage of the selection process.

SSC JE Paper-II Exam	Offline Exam ( Pen & Paper-based Mode); 300 Marks

Candidates who qualify both in Paper-I and Paper-II with the minimum cut off marks set by the commission will be called to attend the personal interview round. The final selection of the candidate will depend on the marks obtained in both the papers (Paper I + Paper-II) and the interview.

As Paper -I exam is postponed by the commission, students will get ample time for practicing Previous year papers of the SSC JE Exam.
