Overview: IPMAT is a competitive exam for admission to IIMs. The total number of IPMAT seats 2025 has not been released yet, but historically IIM Indore and Rohtak offer around 150 and 165 seats respectively. Explore cut-offs required and caveats in allotment of seats in this article.

IPMAT Indore Entrance Test is conducted to fill seats in IIM Indore, Rohtak and Ranchi for management programs, whereas JIPMAT is conducted by NTA for admissions into IIM Jammu and IIM Bodh Gaya’s IPM courses.

The number of students who appear for the exam is increasing every year, yet officials do not proportionally increase the no. of seats in IPMAT each year.

Number of IPMAT Seats 2025 at all IIMs

The candidates who pass the exam are selected on the basis of the number of IPMAT seats available for the course.

Every year, IIM Indore and IIM Rohtak conducts separate the IPMAT exam along with IIM Jammu and Bodhgaya conducting JIPMAT.

IIMs accepting IPMAT scores are responsible for announcing the number of seats prior to the admission process.

The number of seats for IPMAT does not change every year, IIM Indore and IIM Rohtak had approx. 150 and 165 last year, respectively.

The seats in IPMAT are filled based on merit scores obtained in the entrance exam and the interview process and for some IIMs class 12th scores are also taken into account.

Note: The 12th-grade score is not accepted as a valid qualification for IPMAT Indore
