Joint military Exercise AUSTRAHIND commenced at the Foreign Training Node, in Maharashtra
- The 3rd edition of joint military Exercise AUSTRAHIND between India and Australia, commenced at Foreign Training Node, Pune in Maharashtra today (November 8). The exercise will be conducted from 8th to 21st November 2024. Exercise AUSTRAHIND is an annual event conducted alternatively in India and Australia. The Last edition of the same exercise was conducted in Australia in December 2023.

NTPC launches world’s first CO₂-to-Methanol Plant
- NTPC, India’s largest power producer, inaugurated the world’s first CO₂-to-methanol conversion plant at its Vindhyachal facility on Friday, (November 8) coinciding with the company’s 50th Raising Day celebration.

- In a strategic move following the recent disengagement along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in eastern Ladakh, India conducts a significant tri-services military exercise named 'Poorvi Prahaar'. Scheduled from today (November 8) this exercise aims to showcase India's integrated defense capabilities along its eastern frontier, The Poorvi Prahaar exercise will involve coordinated efforts from the Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force, demonstrating their combat readiness.

- A total of 22 universities from India have found a place in the Asia region of the World University Rankings by QS, Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IITD) has secured the top spot under the Southern Asian category, which includes universities from India and Pakistan.
- The Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IITD) (44th position) clinched the top spot in India, the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IITB) is in the 48th position, and the Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IITM) is in the 56th position, National University of Sciences & Technology (NUST) Islamabad shares the 6th position in the South Asian category.
