The Supreme Court Collegium has put forth a set of recommendations for the appointment of Judges to the Madhya Pradesh High Court. These recommendations are as follows:

  1. Ramkumar Choubey, a Judicial Officer, has been recommended for appointment as a Judge of the Madhya Pradesh High Court. This recommendation originated from the Collegium of the High Court on two separate occasions, first on 11 May 2023 and later on 9 August 2023.

  2. Deepak Khot and Pavan Kumar Dwivedi, both Advocates, have also received recommendations for appointment as Judges of the Madhya Pradesh High Court. The Collegium of the High Court put forth these recommendations on 11 November 2022.

Recent Supreme Court Collegium Recommendations

The Supreme Court Collegium, consisting of Chief Justice DY Chandrachud and Justices Sanjiv Khanna and BR Gavai, issued a Resolution detailing these recommendations. To ensure the suitability and fitness of the candidates, the Collegium adhered to the Memorandum of Procedure, seeking the input of Supreme Court Judges familiar with the Madhya Pradesh High Court's affairs. Furthermore, the recommendations received the concurrence of both the Chief Minister and the Governor of the State of Madhya Pradesh.

This process culminated on 17 October 2023 when the Supreme Court Collegium meticulously reviewed and assessed the materials provided in connection with these appointments. The diligence and consultation undertaken during this selection process aim to ensure the appointment of competent and deserving individuals to the Madhya Pradesh High Court.
