International Buddhist Confederation Unveils Triservices Trek

  • The International Buddhist Confederation (IBC) is set to launch the Lord Buddha Trination Triservices Expedition, a historic initiative uniting the armed forces of India, Nepal, and Sri Lanka. This unique motorcycle expedition will commence from Lumbini, Nepal (the birthplace of Lord Buddha) and conclude in Galle, Sri Lanka, covering key Buddhist heritage sites along the route. 

Indian Navy’s First Training Squadron Docks in Singapore

  • The First Training Squadron (1TS) of the Indian Navy, comprising INS Sujata, INS Shardul, and ICGS (Indian Coast Guard) Veera, arrived at Changi Naval Base, Singapore. This visit is part of the Long-Range Training Deployment to Southeast Asia, strengthening maritime cooperation and fostering mutual understanding. The squadron had previously visited Singapore in October 2023. 

Nepal & France sign MoU to begin HydroNepal Project

  • The Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) and the Embassy of France in Nepal, and Blue Water Intelligence signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to launch the HydroNepal Project. NEA Managing Director Kul Man Ghising and CEO of BWI Jeremy Fain signed the MoU in the presence of French Ambassador Virginie Corteval. This initiative of digitizing Nepal’s river basins is expected to optimize its vast hydropower resources and support preparedness for hydrological risks.

NTPC Green Energy And Andhra Pradesh Form Joint Venture For 25 GW Renewable Projects

  • NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL), a subsidiary of NTPC Limited, has announced the incorporation of a new joint venture company, AP NGEL HARIT AMRIT LIMITED. The company was officially registered on February 6, 2025, as a 50:50 joint venture between NTPC Green Energy Limited and the New & Renewable Energy Development Corporation of Andhra Pradesh Limited, a government entity. 

BHEL secures ₹8,000 crore order from Mahagenco

  • State-owned engineering firm Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has secured an order worth ₹8,000 crore from Maharashtra State Power Generation Company Limited (Mahagenco), The extensive scope of work includes the design, supply, erection, and commissioning of BTG (boiler, turbine, and generator) equipment along with civil construction. 

Defence Ministry signs contract of ₹642 Cr with BEL for 28 EON-51 Systems for Indian Navy

  • The Ministry of Defence signed a contract with Bharat Electronics Limited for the procurement of 28 EON-51 systems for 11 New Generation Offshore Patrol Vessels and three Cadet Training Ships for the Indian Navy. The contract will cost over 642 crore rupees.
  • EON-51 is an electro-optical fire control system that provides search, detection, and classification of targets using electro-optical and thermal imager devices.

Lovlina and Ankushita Win Gold at 38th National Games

  • Assam finally climbed the gold medal in the ongoing 38th National Games in Uttrakhand. Tokyo Olympic bronze medalist Lovlina Borgohain added another accolade to her name, securing gold in the women’s boxing - 75kg category while former youth world champion Ankushita Boro gave Assam the second gold medal when she secured a unanimous decision victory over Uttarakhand’s Kajal in the 66kg welterweight category final.

India to host first 'WAVES summit' in Mumbai

  • India is set to host the first World Audio Visual Entertainment Summit (WAVES) in Mumbai from May 1-4 which will bring together too media CEOs, entertainment icons, and creative minds from around the globe.
