Rajasthan Approves 33% Quota for Women in Police Force and more

  • The Rajasthan government approved 33% reservation for women in the police force by deciding to amend the State Police Subordinate Service Rules, 1989, The Cabinet also sanctioned a 5% additional allowance for pensioners aged 70 to 75 years, following Chief Minister Sharma’s prior announcement. This will require a replacement of Rule 54B in the pension regulations. 

World’s 1st breeding centre for Asian King Vultures inaugurated in UP

  • Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath inaugurated the Jatayu Conservation and Breeding Centre in the Bharivaisi, Campierganj Range of the Gorakhpur Forest Division on 6 September 2024. It is the world’s first conservation and breeding centre for the Asian King Vulture or the red-headed vulture. 

Vice President inaugurates new Sainik School at Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh

  • Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar today inaugurated a Sainik school at Gorakhpur in Uttar Pradesh, It is the first Sainik School in Eastern Uttar Pradesh and the second Sainik School run by the Uttar Pradesh Sainik School Society. This is the fifth Sainik School in Uttar Pradesh, out of which three are in Jhansi, Amethi, and Mainpuri, which are run by the Defence Ministry. 

MSDE, Swiggy tie up to provide skilling, employment opportunities

  • The Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship and Swiggy launched an initiative to provide skilling and employment opportunities within Swiggy's food delivery and the quick commerce network, the partnership will benefit 2.4 lakh delivery partners and staff of restaurant partners associated with Swiggy.

  • India’s Hokato Hotozhe Sema has clinched the bronze medal in the men’s shot put F57 class at the Paris 2024 Paralympics. This achievement not only marks a personal milestone for Sema but also contributes to India’s growing success in para-athletics on the global stage. 

Navdeep's silver upgraded to gold after dramatic men's javelin throw F41 final at Paralympics

  • India's Navdeep Singh's silver medal was upgraded to gold after initial winner Iran's Sadegh Beit Sayah was disqualified for repeatedly displaying an objectionable flag following a dramatic men's javelin throw F41 final at the Paris Paralympics. 

Ronaldo becomes 1st player to reach 900 career goals

  • Portugal's talisman Cristiano Ronaldo reached a remarkable milestone by scoring his 900th career goal during Portugal’s 2-1 victory over Croatia in their opening UEFA Nations League match on September 5. The 39-year-old is the first player in football history to reach 900 career goals for both club and country.
