- Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has announced his resignation as leader of the ruling Liberal Party. He said he will remain Prime Minister until a new leader is chosen.

Air Force Station, Yelahanka, Bengaluru to host 15th Aero India 2025
- The latest edition of Asia’s biggest biennial air show and aviation exhibition - Aero India 2025 will be held at the Air Force Station, Yelahanka in Bengaluru, Karnataka. The 15th edition of the Aero India show will be held from 10-14 February 2025.
Amit Shah launched BHARATPOL portal
- Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation, Shri Amit Shah launched the BHARATPOL portal developed by central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in New Delhi today (7th Jan 2025) in Bharat Mandapam in Delhi.
India’s first organic fisheries cluster launched in Sikkim
- Union Minister Rajiv Ranjan Singh inaugurated and laid the foundation for 50 projects worth ₹50 crores under the Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana (PMMSY) in Guwahati, Assam.
- As part of the event, the minister launched India’s first organic fisheries cluster in Soreng District, Sikkim, under the PMMSY initiative. The cluster will incorporate ecological fish farming methods, avoiding harmful chemicals and promoting minimal environmental pollution.
India’s Metro Rail Network Surpasses 1,000 km, Becoming World’s Third Largest
- As of January 2025, India has achieved a significant milestone by expanding its metro rail network to over 1,000 kilometers of operational lines, positioning it as the third-largest in the world, following China and the United States.
Om Birla inaugurates Gandhi Darshan Art Gallery at Rajghat
- Loksabha Speaker Om Birla inaugurated the Gandhi Darshan Art Gallery at Rajghat in New Delhi. In the gallery, more than 80 Artists have showcased their art to portray the Father of the nation, Mahatma Gandhi in a unique and modern way.

- In Squash, India’s Anahat Singh has clinched the Under 17 Girl’s Singles title at the British Junior Open in Birmingham, England. The 16-year-old top-seed Indian defeated Malika El Karaksy of Egypt, 3-2 in the summit clash.

Azimul Haque appointed as CEO of Delhi Waqf Board
- Lieutenant Governor (L-G) V.K. Saxena has approved the appointment of IAS officer Azimul Haque as the CEO of the Delhi Waqf Board. However, he criticized the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government for its alleged “callousness” and lack of adherence to legal procedures in handling the matter.

- Dubai has secured the top spot in West Asia in the Global Power City Index 2024 and eighth position globally, marking its second consecutive year in the top 10 rankings. The annual study, conducted by Japan’s Mori Memorial Foundation, highlights Dubai’s leadership in innovation, economic dynamism, and global connectivity.
