India’s largest single-location solar manufacturing facility inaugurated in Tamil Nadu

  • TP Solar Ltd, Tata Power’s solar manufacturing arm and a subsidiary of Tata Power Renewable Energy, has achieved a significant milestone in its renewable energy journey with the inauguration of its 4.3 gigawatt (GW) solar cell and module manufacturing facility at Tirunelveli in Tamil Nadu. This is considered India’s largest single-location solar manufacturing facility.

MoD signs Rs 10k cr deals to boost Army's PINAKA with EEL and MIL

  • Contracts for advanced munitions for the indigenously developed PINAKA Multiple Launch Rocket System (MLRS), totalling Rs 10,147 crore, were signed between the Ministry of Defence (MoD) and Economic Explosives Limited (EEL) and Defence Public Sector Undertaking (DPSU) Munitions India Limited (MIL) to enhance the Indian Army's firepower. A separate contract for software upgrades to the system was also signed with Navratna DPSU Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL).

Surajkund International Crafts Mela kicks off in Haryana

  • Australian all-rounder Marcus Stoinis shocked the cricketing world by announcing his immediate retirement from One-Day International (ODI) cricket. However, he will still be available for selection in Australia’s national T20I squad.

38th National Games: Niraj Kumar wins gold in 50m rifle 3 positions

  • In the ongoing 38th National Games in Uttarakhand, Niraj Kumar from Services clinched the gold medal in the 50m Rifle Three Positions (Men) event. Aishwarya Pratap Singh Tomar from Madhya Pradesh secured the silver, while Swapnil Suresh Kusale from Maharashtra bagged the bronze.

38th National Games: Haryana’s Suruchi bags Gold in women’s 10 metre air pistol

  • In the 38th National Games, Haryana’s Suruchi wins a Gold medal in women’s 10 metre air pistol scoring 245.7 points. Haryana also bagged silver to secure the top position.
  • In rowing Services secured the gold medal in the men’s double sculls and also claimed the top spot in the men’s coxless four sculls event. Meanwhile, the Madhya Pradesh women’s team clinched gold in the quadruple sculls event and emerged victorious in the women’s coxless pair category.

9th Asian Winter Games to begin in China

  • The Asian Winter Games 2025 (9th) begins in Harbin, the People's Republic of China, on February 7 - the Ice hockey matches at the Asian Winter Games 2025 began on February 3 but the showpiece officially kicks off with the Opening Ceremony on February 7.
