Indian Navy and South African Navy signs Agreement to enhance submarine rescue support cooperation

  • The Indian Navy and the South African Navy signed an Implementing Agreement to enhance their submarine rescue support cooperation. The Defence Ministry said that under the agreement, the Indian Navy will provide assistance by deploying its Deep Submergence Rescue Vehicle when required. The Ministry underlined that this will ensure the safety of the South African Navy’s submarine crew in times of distress or accident. 

India and Singapore Sign Agreement on Semiconductor Partnership

  • India and Singapore have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Semiconductor Ecosystem Partnership during Prime Minister Modi's visit to Singapore. This agreement will facilitate the entry of Singapore's semiconductor companies into the Indian market.

Centre and Tripura government sign historic peace pact

  • A Memorandum of Settlement was signed among the Centre, Tripura government, and representatives of the National Liberation Front of Tripura, NLFT and All Tripura Tiger Force, ATTF. Home Minister Amit Shah, Chief Minister of Tripura Manik Saha and senior officials of the Home Ministry and Tripura government were present on the occasion. 

Union Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal launches Notary Portal

  • Union Minister for Law and Justice, Arjun Ram Meghwal, launched the Notary Portal in New Delhi. Notary Portal is an important step forward towards providing a paperless, faceless, and efficient system & a step towards the goal of digital India, The portal has been made in a user-friendly manner and will help the Notaries and the public. 

Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya inaugurates National Convention of District Youth Officers in New Delhi

  • Sports and Youth Affairs Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya inaugurated a two-day National Convention of District Youth Officers at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in New Delhi. Addressing the event, Dr. Mandaviya emphasized the importance of youth power and called for harnessing the potential of Yuva Shakti in shaping country’s future. 

UP Govt to Build Vedic-3D Museum in Varanasi 

  • Uttar Pradesh government will construct a Vedic-3D museum in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s parliamentary constituency Varanasi at the main building of the Sampurnanand Sanskrit University. The state of the art museum will be dedicated to Indian astrology, astronomy, and Vedic literature. The chief minister made the announcement during his maiden visit to the university in Kashi yesterday.

Sachin Khilari secures silver medal in men’s shot put F46 final at the Paris Paralympics 2024

  • Para-athlete Sachin Khilari clinched the silver medal in the men’s shot put F46 final at the ongoing Paris Paralympics, Sachin secured the second spot with a 16.32-meter throw, which is also an area best (AB). However, the Indian athlete narrowly missed the top spot by just 0.06 meters. 

Pranjali Dhumal wins bronze in 25m pistol at World Deaf Shooting Championship

  • Pranjali Dhumal secured a bronze medal in the Women’s 25m Pistol event at the World Deaf Shooting Championship in Hanover, Germany.
  • Pranjali qualified for the finals with a deaf world record and championship record score of 571, In the finals, Dhumal clinched the bronze by hitting three out of five shots in the eighth series, edging out Croatia’s Lana Skeledzija by a single point. She finished with a score of 29, trailing the Ukrainian duo Sofiia Olenych and Halyna Mosina, who claimed gold and silver, respectively.

  • Teachers' Day marks the birth anniversary of Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan - the first Vice-President and the second President of India.
  • The first Teachers' Day was observed on Dr. Radhakrishnan’s 77th birthday in the year 1962, It was where the tradition of celebrating Teachers' Day began.
