Biyuram Waghe inaugurates Butterfly Park at Pakke Tiger Reserve

• Arunachal Pradesh Minister of Health & Family Welfare and Water Resources, Biyuram Waghe, inaugurated a Butterfly Park at Pakke Tiger Reserve. Located at the West Bank Forest Camp in Seijosa, Pakke Kessang District, this new park aims to enhance biodiversity conservation efforts and encourage eco-tourism in the area.

Rishabh Pant surpasses Yashasvi Jaiswal, smashes fastest Test fifty against New Zealand

• Rishabh Pant sets a new record by hitting the fastest Test fifty by an Indian against New Zealand, achieving the mark in just 36 balls on Day 2 of the third Test in Mumbai. Pant's aggressive 60 off 59 balls, including eight fours and two sixes, helped India recover after early wickets. 

Krisha Verma clinches Gold Medal at U19 World Boxing Championships

• India’s Krisha Verma clinched a gold medal yesterday at the U19 World Boxing Championships in Colorado, USA. However, five other Indian boxers in contention for the gold medals went down in their respective final.

Japan set to test world’s first wooden satellite

• Scientists in Japan are set to test the world’s first wooden satellite, The LignoSat was developed by a team from Kyoto University and homebuilder Sumitomo Forestry, It will be launched next week atop a SpaceX rocket, bound for the International Space Station.

Dr. Jacqueline d’Arros Hughes Appointed as Secretary General of the World Agriculture Forum

• Jacqueline d’Arros Hughes, the outgoing Director General of the International Crops Research Institute for the Semi-Arid Tropics (ICRISAT), is set to take up the role of Secretary General of the World Agriculture Forum (WAF) in mid-November 2024. 

Major General Jagdeep Cheema takes over as new ADG, NCC Directorate PHHP&C

• Major General Jagdeep Singh Cheema has assumed charge as the 13th Additional Director General (ADG) of the National Cadet Corps (NCC) Directorate Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and Chandigarh (PHHP&C).

• The International Allied Health Conference (IAHC 2024), which was held in conjunction with the third Singapore Allied Health Conference on 1 November 2024, brought together about 1,100 global Allied Health Professionals (AHPs) and students from over 18 countries to foster collaboration and innovation, The conference theme, “Advancing Allied Health: Diverse in Calling, United in Purpose,” emphasizes the shared mission of healthcare professionals from diverse specialties. 

352nd Governing Body meeting of ILO being conducted in Geneva

• The 352nd Governing Body meeting of the International Labour Organisation (ILO) is underway in Geneva. It began on the 28th of last month (October) and will continue till the 7th of this month (November). 

G-20 Disaster Risk Reduction Working Group (DRRWG) Ministerial Meeting held in Brazil

• A high-level Indian delegation, headed by Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister, Dr. P.K. Mishra, participated in the G-20 Disaster Risk Reduction Working Group (DRRWG) Ministerial Meeting from October 30 to November 1, in Belem, Brazil.
