Two Presidents were impeached in South Korea within two week
- The South Korean Parliament has impeached two presidents within two weeks, plunging the country into political and economic turmoil. Acting President Han Duck-soo was impeached by the South Korean Parliament on 27 December 2024. Han became the first acting President of the country to be impeached since democracy was introduced in the country in 1987, Han Duck-soo was sworn in as the acting President of South Korea on 14 December 2024 after the South Korean Parliament impeached President Yoon Suk Yeol.

Govt signs deal with Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders
- India's defence ministry has signed a Rs 1,990 crore ($233 million) contract with Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders for technology that allows submarines to stay underwater for longer.
- The ministry also signed a Rs 870 crore ($102 million) contract with France's Naval Group for the integration of torpedoes on Indian navy submarines to increase their firepower.
Puducherry had the highest percentage of female voters in the nation
- According to figures released by the Election Commission of India, Puducherry had the highest percentage of female voters in the nation during the 2024 Lok Sabha Elections, According to a press statement from the Puducherry Chief Electoral Officer, women make up 5,42,979, or 53.03%, of the 10,23, electorate.

Rajat Verma appointed as DBS Bank India CEO, to succeed Surojit Shome
- Singapore's DBS Group has appointed Rajat Verma as chief executive officer of DBS Bank India, it said on Monday, to succeed Surojit Shome, who retires at the end of February.
- Reuters reported in November that Verma had been nominated, pending approval from the Reserve Bank of India that is needed for all appointments of bank CEOs.
Vitul Kumar Assigned Officiating Charge as CRPF Director General
- The Ministry of Home Affairs assigned senior Indian Police Service (IPS) officer Vitul Kumar the officiating charge for the post of Director General of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) following the retirement of the incumbent force chief, Anish Dayal Singh.
