India and Saudi Arabia signed MoU to enhance bilateral cooperation in public sector
- In a significant move to enhance bilateral cooperation in public sector auditing, India and Saudi Arabia signed a Memorandum of Understanding in Riyadh. The agreement was signed by Girish Chandra Murmu, the Comptroller and Auditor General of India, and Dr. Hussam Al-Angari, President of the Saudi General Court of Audit.

NorthEast United FC wins its maiden Durand Cup beating MBSG
- Guwahati-based NorthEast United Football Club won its first Durand Cup title, defeating the defending champion Mohun Bagan Super Giant (MBSG) 4-3 in a penalty shootout in the final. The final of the 133rd edition of Asia’s oldest football tournament was played at the Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan, Kolkata(West Bengal), on 31 August 2024.
Nishad Kumar Wins Silver Medal at the Paris Paralympics
- India's Nishad Kumar secured a silver medal in the men's T47 high jump final at the Paris Paralympics Kumar, who previously claimed silver in Tokyo, recorded his season-best jump of 2.04 meters to finish in second place. Townsend-Roberts of the United States claimed the gold medal with a season-best jump of 2.08 meters, pulling ahead of India's Nishad Kumar. Russia's Georgii Margiev took home the bronze.

- Air Marshal Tejinder Singh on Sunday September 1, 2024, took over as Deputy Chief of the Air Staff of the Indian Air Force, An alumnus of the National Defence Academy, Air Marshal Singh was commissioned in the fighter stream of the Indian Air Force (IAF) on June 13, 1987.
Ashutosh Dixit takes over as AOC-In-C, Central Air Command
- Air Marshal Ashutosh Dixit has taken over as the chief of the Central Air Command at Prayagraj, while Air Marshal Tejinder Singh has been appointed as the deputy chief of air staff in New Delhi. Dixit is an experienced test pilot and instructor. Singh has a rich flying experience with over 4,500 hours in the air.
