DRDO & Indian Navy Successfully Test NASM-SR Missile in Chandipur
- The Indian Navy in collaboration with the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) has successfully conducted the flight test of the indigenously developed Naval Anti-Ship Missile -Short Range (NASM-SR).
- The missile was launched from the Indian Navy’s Sea King Mk 42B helicopter from the Integrated Test Range (ITR), Chandipur in Odisha, NASM-SR is the country's first indigenously developed air-launched anti-ship missile system with a sea-skimming ability.
Ram Mohan Naidu inaugurates Udan Yatri Cafe at Chennai Airport
- Union Minister for Civil Aviation, Shri Ram Mohan Naidu, inaugurated the UDAN Yatri Cafe at Chennai Airport, marking the second such facility under this groundbreaking initiative. The first UDAN Yatri Cafe was inaugurated on December 19, 2024, at Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport in Kolkata, commemorating the 100th anniversary of the historic airport.
Piyush Goyal inaugurates Bharat Calling Conference 2025
- Union Minister for Commerce and Industry, Shri Piyush Goyal, inaugurated the ‘Bharat Calling Conference 2025’ organized by IMC Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Mumbai. Indian Women's Football Team finishes 3rd in 2nd Pink Ladies Cup 2025
- The 2nd edition of the Pink Ladies Cup was held at the Al Hamriya Sports Club Stadium in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates from 22-26 February 2025.
- The Indian senior women's football team, popularly known as Blue Tigress, ended their campaign in the 2nd Pink Ladies Cup with a 3-0 defeat to the South Korean side, India had won their first match against Jordan 2-0 but lost to Russia by the same margin in their second match. The Indian team finished third in the Pink Ladies Cup.

Veteran Odia actor Uttam Mohanty dies at 66
- Veteran Odia actor Uttam Mohanty passed away at the age of 66 due to acute liver ailments while receiving treatment in Delhi. He was known for his roles in over 130 films and will be remembered for his significant contributions to Odia cinema. His last rites will be conducted with full state honours.

Seasoned bureaucrat Tuhin Pandey to take over as 11th SEBI chairman
- The government appointed Finance Secretary Tuhin Kanta Pandey as the 11th chairman of the capital market regulator, the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI).
- The Odisha-cadre Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer will replace Madhabi Puri Buch, who completes her three-year tenure on Friday (February 28).

National Science Day
- National Science Day is celebrated every year on 28th February to commemorate the discovery of the ‘Raman Effect’ made by the eminent physicist Sir C.V. Raman while working in the laboratory of the Indian Association for the Cultivation of Science, Kolkata. For this discovery, he was awarded the Nobel Prize.
Rare Disease Day
- Rare Disease Day is an observance held on the last day of February to raise awareness for rare diseases and improve access to treatment and medical representation for individuals with rare diseases and their families. The date is chosen because in leap years it is February 29, the rarest date.
- Rare Disease Day was first observed in 2008 by the European Organisation for Rare Diseases (EURORDIS). The day was created to raise awareness of rare diseases and to advocate for better care and access to treatment.

- IT industry body Nasscom has partnered with the Karnataka Innovation and Technology Society (KITS) to foster innovation and intellectual property (IP) growth within Karnataka's tech sector.
- KITS is the implementing agency for the Department of Electronics, Information Technology, Biotechnology and Science & Technology, Government of Karnataka.
- The MoU outlines the setting up of a joint commitment to strengthen Karnataka's position as a leading innovation hub, drive IP creation, and fuel economic growth through advanced technology development and commercialisation, according to a company statement.
