• The India Global Forum’s flagship Middle East & Africa 2024 (ME&A 2024) opened in Dubai, uniting leaders from India, the Middle East, and Africa under the theme ‘Limitless Horizons.’ The two-day forum aims to strengthen partnerships in key sectors, including technology, finance, sustainability, and innovation, featuring over 200 speakers and 1,000 participants.

• Union Minister for Education, Shri Dharmendra Pradhan in New Delhi unveiled the Teacher App, an innovative digital platform designed to revolutionize education in India by equipping educators with future-ready skills to meet the demands of 21st-century classrooms. 

Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan inaugurates 227 Gender Resource Centres

• Union Rural Development Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan inaugurated 227 Gender Resource Centres in 13 states under the Nayi Chetna 3.0 campaign. On the occasion, the Minister asserted that the government is working towards the social, economic, political, and educational empowerment of women. He urged everyone to raise their voices to eradicate gender-based violence in the country.

World No.1 Jannik Sinner leads Italy to 2024 Davis Cup Title

• The Italian men’s tennis team, led by world No.1 Jannik Sinner, won the Davis Cup 2024 title by defeating the Netherlands 2-0 in the finals. The Italian team won their third Davis Cup after victory in 1976 and 2023. 

India’s Historic Victory Over Australia: Breaking a 47-Year Record

• India created history, on November 25, 2024, with a massive 295-run victory against Australia in the first Test of the five-match Border-Gavaskar Trophy series at the Optus Stadium, Perth. This stunning win gave India a 1-0 lead in the series and marked a significant milestone in their Test cricket journey.
• This triumph shattered a 47-year-old record, making it India’s biggest victory against Australia in Australia in terms of runs. The previous record stood at 222 runs, achieved at Melbourne on December 30, 1977.

Dinesh Bhatia appointed as India’s next ambassador to Brazil

• Dinesh Bhatia, an Indian Foreign Service officer from the 1992 batch, has been named as India’s next Ambassador to Brazil, Bhatia is currently serving as the Ambassador of India to Argentina, a position he assumed on August 21, 2019. His accreditation also extended to Uruguay and Paraguay until February 2022.

• Constitution Day of India, also known as Samvidhan Divas, is observed annually on November 26. It marks the adoption of the Indian Constitution in 1949 by the Constituent Assembly. The Constitution came into effect on 26 January 1950.

• The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) to promote commerce-based skill courses, particularly within the Banking, Financial Services, and Insurance (BFSI) sector. 

India to host 13th UN Global Geospatial Information Management Asia-Pacific Conference

• India is hosting the 13th United Nations Global Geospatial Information Management (GGIM) Asia-Pacific Plenary and Regional Conference from tomorrow (November 26), The four-day event will be held at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi. Ninety international delegates from 30 countries along with 120 delegates from India will participate in the conference.

PNB becomes a PCAF signatory, strengthening its commitment to climate responsibility

• Punjab National Bank (PNB), India’s second-largest public sector bank, has become a signatory of the Partnership for Carbon Accounting Financials (PCAF), marking a major step in its climate action journey. This decision aligns with global standards for greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions accounting and the Reserve Bank of India’s (RBI) draft framework on climate-related financial risk disclosures, showcasing PNB’s dedication to sustainability and climate transparency.
