Rohit Sharma Becomes First Batter to Hit 200 Sixes in T20Is
- Rohit Sharma became the first player to hit 200 sixes in T20Is during the T20 World Cup 2024 Super Eight Group 1 match against Australia at the Daren Sammy National Cricket Stadium in St. Lucia.
- Only one other batter has more than 150 maximums in the format. New Zealand’s Martin Guptill follows Rohit with 173 T20I sixes. Among Indians, only Surya Kumar Yadav (129) and Virat Kohli (121) has over 100 sixes in T20I
Cummins Creates History by taking Second Consecutive T20 World Cup Hat-Trick
- Pat Cummins made history on June 23, as he became first player to pick up 2 hat-tricks in T20 World Cups during the Super 8 clash between Australia and Afghanistan in St. Vincent. Cummins picked up the wickets of Rashid Khan, Karim Janat and Gulbadin Naib to achieve the feat.
- Cummins is already a member of an illustrious group of seven players to have taken a hat-trick at a Men’s T20 World Cup, with Brett Lee (2007), Curtis Campher (2021), Wanindu Hasaranga (2021), Kagiso Rabada (2021), Karthik Meiyappan (2022) and Josh Little (2022) the other bowlers to have done so previously.
India Wins 11 Medals At The U-17 Asian Wrestling Championship 2024
- Indian wrestlers have ended their campaign in the Under- 17 Asian Wrestling Championship 2024 with a total of 11 medals- four gold, two silver, and five bronze. The annual Under 17 & Under 23 Asian Wrestling Championship 2024 is being held in the Jordanian capital city of Amman from 22-30 June 2024.
- The U-17 championship was held from 22 to 24 June 2024. After the end of the U-17 championship, the U-23 championship has started, The Indian wrestlers competed in the men’s and women’s freestyle and men’s Greco-Roman categories. There were 10 weight divisions in each of the three wrestling formats per age group.

Frank Duckworth, co-inventor of DLS method, passes away at 84
- Frank Duckworth, one of the inventors of the Duckworth-Lewis (later Duckworth-Lewis-Stern) method to determine results in rain-affected cricket matches, died on Friday, June 21 at the age of 84.
- The original method, devised by English statisticians Duckworth and Tony Lewis, was first used in international cricket in 1997 and was formally adopted by the ICC as the standard for setting revised targets in truncated games in 2001. In 2014, it was renamed the Duckworth-Lewis-Stern method after the retirement of Duckworth and Lewis and the modifications made to the system by Australian statistician Steven Stern.

- Lt Gen NS Raja Subramani will take over as the next Vice Chief of Army Staff on June 30 succeeding Lt Gen Dwivedi.
- The Vice Chief of Army Staff is one of the most important appointments in the Army headquarters as he looks after many important verticals of the force including modernisation and indigenisation.
Government Appoints Girija Subramanian as CMD of New India Assurance Company
- The government has appointed Girija Subramanian as chairman and managing director (CMD) of the largest general insurer, New India Assurance, effective from June 19, 2024, until she attains the age of superannuation or until further orders.
- Subramanian holds a bachelor's degree in statistics. She is a fellow member of the Insurance Institute of India and also an associate member of the Chartered Insurance Institute, London.
Anuj Tyagi appointed as MD And CEO Of HDFC ERGO General Insurance
- Private sector general insurer HDFC Ergo General Insurance announced the appointment of Anuj Tyagi as its new Managing Director (MD) and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) from July 1, 2024. Tyagi will succeed Ritesh Kumar, who has been the MD & CEO of HDFC Ergo General Insurance since 2008.

- BJP MP Om Birla was re-elected as the speaker of the 18th Lok Sabha after Prime Minister Narendra Modi moved a motion to elect the NDA nominee for his second term.
- About - Om Birla is an Indian politician and businessman who was the 17th Speaker of the Lok Sabha. He serves as a Member of Parliament, Lok Sabha from Kota constituency in Rajasthan since 2014.
Intelligence Bureau Chief Tapan Kumar Deka gets 1 year extension
- The Appointment Committee of the Cabinet chaired by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi has approved an extension of one year service to the incumbent Intelligence Bureau Director General Tapan Kumar Deka, According to the Department of Personnel and Training, Tapan Kumar Deka will continue in office till 30 June 2025.
- Tapan Kumar Deka was appointed as the Director General of the Intelligence Bureau in 2022 for a term of two years after the retirement of Arvind Kumar. Tapan Kumar Deka’s term as the Director General of the Intelligence Bureau was to end on 30 June 2024.

64th International Sugar Organization Council Meeting held in New Delhi
- The 64th International Sugar Organization Council meeting commenced on 25th June 2024 at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi. Delegates from more than 30 countries and representatives of many international organizations are expected to participate in the meeting held from 25-27 June 2024, to discuss issues related to the sugar industry and biofuels sectors.
- India was elected as the chairman of the International Sugar Council for 2024 at the 63rd International Sugar Organization Council meeting held in London, United Kingdom last year.
