North Korean leader Kim Jong Un unveils new ‘suicide drones’

  • North Korean leader Kim Jong Un recently unveiled a new type of “suicide drone,” with state media reporting that he personally oversaw a performance test of the weaponry. Suicide drones are explosive-carrying unmanned drones designed to be deliberately crashed into enemy targets, effectively acting as guided missiles.

Centre announces five new districts in Ladakh

  • The Central govt has announced the creation of five new districts in the Union Territory of Ladakh. These new districts are Zanskar, Drass, Sham, Nubra, and Changthang.

India clinches silver medal at Asian Surfing Championships 2024 

  • India secured a silver medal at the Maruhaba Cup, a prestigious team event at the Asian Surfing Championships 2024, held in Thulusdhoo, with a score of 24.13 points, Japan clinched the gold medal with a dominant score of 58.40.

Veteran Congress leader, Nanded MP Vasantrao Chavan passes away

  • Veteran Congress leader and Nanded MP Vasantrao Chavan passed away in the early hours of Monday (August 26). He was 70. He passed away while receiving treatment in a hospital in Hyderabad. He was under medical treatment for last two weeks. 

Former Lebanon Prime Minister Salim Hoss Passes Away

  • Former Lebanese Prime Minister Salim Hoss, a key figure during Lebanon’s turbulent years, has passed away at the age of 94, Salim Ahmad al-Huss, also spelled Selim El-Hoss, was a Lebanese politician who served as the prime minister of Lebanon and a longtime Member of Parliament representing his hometown,

Around the world, devotees are gathering in huge numbers for the Darshan of Lord Krishna in temples, According to the Hindu calendar, Janmashtami, also known as Gokulashtami, is celebrated on the eighth day, or Ashtami, of the Krishna Paksha (dark fortnight) in the month of Bhadrapada, which is usually in August or September. In 2024, Janmashtami is celebrated on August 26.
