19th India-Australia Joint Ministerial Commission meeting to be held in Adelaide

  • Shri Piyush Goyal will co-chair with Minister Farrell the 19th India-Australia Joint Ministerial Commission meeting held in Adelaide today (September 25, 2024) During the meeting, both countries discussed ways to elevate bilateral economic engagement further. 

Iran unveils all new and powerful suicide drone ‘Shahed-136B’

  • Amid the growing tension in the Middle-East, Iran for the first time has showcased the Shahed 136B drone and Jihad ballistic missile. Iran unveiled a new ballistic missile and an upgraded one-way attack drone at a military parade.

India’s First Co2 to Methanol pilot plant to be set up in Pune

  • The foundation stone for India’s first of its kind CO2-to-Methanol pilot plant with an overall capacity of 1.4 Tons Per Day (TPD) was unveiled virtually by Prof. Abhay Karandikar, Secretary, Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India, at Thermax Limited premises in Pune, 

Indian Navy readies second edition of Navika Sagar Parikrama expedition

  • The Indian Navy is all set to launch its second Navika Sagar Parikrama expedition on 2 October 2024. The Indian Navy launched its first Navika Sagar Parikrama in 2017, manned by six female crew members, to circumnavigate the globe on board the Indian Naval Sailing Vessel Tarini, or INSV Tarini.

Jitendra J Jadhav Appointed as Director General of Aeronautical Development Agency

  • The Appointment Committee of the Cabinet has approved a significant change in leadership for India’s aeronautical sector. Jitendra J Jadhav, a Distinguished Scientist with nearly four decades of experience in aircraft design and development, has been appointed as the new Director General of the Aeronautical Development Agency (ADA).

  • World Pharmacists Day is a global healthcare event celebrated on September 25th every year since 2009, Organized by the International Pharmaceutical Federation (FIP), a WHO partner, is a day to recognize and celebrate the crucial role that pharmacists play in building healthier communities everywhere, This year, 2024, the World Pharmacist Day Theme is “Pharmacists: Meeting Global Health Needs”.

AIIMS Delhi sign MoU with tech company, Intuitive

  • All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, and a technology company, Intuitive, signed a Memorandum of Understanding to establish an innovative new training centre for robotic-assisted surgery. The AIIMS da Vinci robotic-assisted surgery training centre will focus on equipping surgeons and care teams with the skills and technology to perform robotic-assisted surgery across specialities, including urology, gynaecology, general surgery, and more. 

Rubber Research Institute signs MoU with IndianOil

  • A memorandum of understanding was signed between Rubber Research Institute of India (RRII) and Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (IOCL) to enhance the research on using Rubber Process Oils marketed by IOCL in different tyre and non-tyre rubber products.

India 3rd most powerful country in Asia: Asia Power Index 2024

  • According to the Asian Power Index Report 2024, released recently by the Australian think tank Lowy Institute, India is ranked third most powerful country in Asia after the United States of America and China. Last year, India was ranked the fourth most powerful country in Asia in the 2023 report, but this year, India overtook Japan to be ranked third.
