India’s 1st-ever Capacity Building Programme on UNSC Resolution 1540

  • The Indian government, in collaboration with the United Nations Office for Disarmament Affairs, is organizing the first-ever Capacity Building Programme on the United Nations Security Council Resolution 1540 and Strategic Trade Controls for Asia-Pacific in Andhra Pradesh, starting today.
  • Nearly twenty-four government experts from eight countries, including Bangladesh, Cambodia, Indonesia, Iraq, Lao PDR, Maldives, Sri Lanka, and Thailand, are participating in the 3-day programme. 

NTPC Green Energy inks pact to develop 20 GW renewable energy projects in MP

  • State-owned NTPC Green Energy has inked a pact with Madhya Pradesh Power Generating Company (MPPGCL) to collaborate in the renewable energy sector to develop up to 20 GW projects in the state. 

Datia Airport receives aerodrome licence from DGCA

  • Datia has officially emerged as Madhya Pradesh’s eighth airport after receiving a licence from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA).
  • It has been categorized as a public aerodrome under the 3C/VFR category, allowing its use for commercial operations. The newly developed airport, spanning 118 acres, is expected to enhance air connectivity in the state. 

51st Khajuraho Dance Festival

  • The Khajuraho Dance Festival, an annual cultural extravaganza, is set to mesmerize art lovers once again from February 20 to 26, 2025, It takes place annually in the Chhatarpur district, near the Khajuraho.
  • Organized by the Department of Culture, Madhya Pradesh, with support from Madhya Pradesh Tourism, this festival has been a beacon of classical dance since its inception in 1975.

  • Mohun Bagan Super Giant football club won their second Indian Super League (ISL) Winners Shield when they defeated Odisha FC club 1-0 at the Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan Stadium in Kolkata on 23 February 2025.

Legendary Odissi Dancer Mayadhar Raut Passed Away at 92

  • Renowned Odissi maestro Mayadhar Raut, often referred to as the “Father of Odissi dance,” passed away on February 22, 2025, at the age of 92 in his Delhi home. His family confirmed that he died peacefully due to old age.
  • A Padma Shri awardee, Raut was instrumental in the revival and codification of Odissi dance in the 1950s. His contributions, including the introduction of Sanchari Bhava, Mudra Viniyoga, and Rasa Theory, helped shape Odissi into a structured classical dance form.

  • The Reserve Bank of India has launched the Financial Literacy Week 2025, It is an annual initiative aimed at promoting financial awareness among the people. This year, the campaign runs from February 24 to 28, under the theme “Financial Literacy – Women’s Prosperity”.

  • Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the plenary session of the Advantage Assam 2.0 Investment and Infrastructure Summit in Guwahati.

Sunil Mittal Receives Honorary Knighthood from UK

  • Bharti Enterprises founder and chairman, Sunil Bharti Mittal, has been awarded an Honorary Knighthood (KBE) from the UK for his contributions to strengthening India-UK business relations.
  • Mittal received the Knight Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (KBE) at a special investiture ceremony at the British High Commissioner’s residence in New Delhi.
