Prabowo Subianto took over as President of Indonesia

  • Prabowo Subianto took charge as president of Indonesia, the third-largest democracy in the world, Prabowo, a 73-year-old former special forces commander, won nearly 60% of the vote in the February 14 election, it marks the end of the era of former leader Joko Widodo (known locally as Jokowi), who led more than a decade of economic growth and infrastructure development. 

India-Pakistan extend agreement on Sri Kartarpur Sahib Corridor

  • India and Pakistan have agreed to extend the validity of the Agreement on Sri Kartarpur Sahib Corridor for a further period of five years. The Agreement was signed on 24th of October 2019 to facilitate the visit of pilgrims from India to Gurdwara Darbar Sahib Kartarpur. 

Rajasthan govt signs Rs 3 trillion green energy agreement with UAE

  • The Rajasthan government has signed an initial agreement with the United Arab Emirates for an investment of Rs 3 lakh crore in the field of renewable energy in the state, The signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was done in the presence of Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma and Investment Minister of UAE Mohammad Hassan Al Suwaidi. 

Luong Cuong Elected Vietnam’s new President

  • Vietnam’s parliament elected army general Luong Cuong as the new president in a widely expected move aimed at bringing some stability to the country’s political landscape after a period of upheaval with several departures and reshuffles. 

Pravasi Parichay 2024 inaugurated at Riyadh, Saudi Arabia

  • The 2024 edition of the Embassy’s flagship diaspora engagement event, Pravasi Parichay, was inaugurated by Ambassador of India to Saudi Arabia Dr. Suhel Ajaz Khan at the Embassy Auditorium in Riyadh. The week-long cultural celebration commenced with a specially curated event titled “Classical Languages of India,” aimed at highlighting the rich linguistic diversity of the country.

  • India’s fourth nuclear-powered ballistic missile submarine (SSBN), designated S4*, was officially launched into the water at the Ship Building Centre in Visakhapatnam.

  • The 24th National Para-Swimming Championship concluded with Karnataka emerging as the overall champion, amassing an impressive 392 points. The competition saw a fierce battle for the top spots, with Maharashtra finishing a close second with 378 points, and Rajasthan securing third place with 248 points.
