Purabi Dairy inks pact to operate Assam govt plant

• West Assam Milk Producers' Co-operative Union Ltd (WAMUL), known under the brand Purabi Dairy, has joined hands with the Assam government to operate a 5,000-litre daily capacity plant in Dhemaji district. 

Gujarat launches Shramik Basera scheme

• Gujarat CM launches Shramik Basera scheme this scheme will provide workers with essential facilities such as drinking water, kitchens, electricity, fans, streetlights, toilets, CCTV security, and medical services. Maintenance expenses for water, electricity, security, and cleanliness will be covered by the welfare board. 

Rajiv Gandhi Civil Abhaya Hastham scheme launched

• Rajiv Gandhi Civil Abhaya Hastham Scheme is launched by Telangana government, The Rajiv Gandhi Civil Abhaya Hastham Scheme is launched to support aspiring civil servants from the state financially. Under the Scheme Amount of Rs 1 lakh will be credited to the bank of eligible beneficiary applicants.

Yuki Bhambri bags the 2024 Swiss Open Gstaad Tennis Doubles Title

• Indian tennis player Yuki Bhambri, in partnership with Albano Olivetti of France, has won the 2024 Swiss Open Gstaad Men’s Doubles title. The Swiss Open Gstaad 2024 was held in Gstaad city, Switzerland, from 15 to 21 July 2024. It is an ATP 250 event played on clay courts.

Padma Shri Awardee Kamala Pujari Passes Away at 74

• Kamala Pujari, the renowned Padma Shri awardee and pioneering organic farmer, passed away at the age of 74 due to kidney-related ailments. She was being treated at SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack but succumbed to her condition early on Saturday, July 20.

Asian Paralympic Committee appoints Deepa Malik as representative for South Asia

• India's first woman Paralympic medallist Deepa Malik has been named sub-regional representative for South Asia by the Asian Paralympic Committee (APC), This appointment was confirmed during the 34th Executive Board meeting of the APC, signifies a significant step forward for gender diversity and athlete-centric leadership in para-sports. She will take up her post immediately. 

Manolo Marquez Appointed Head Coach of Indian Men’s Football Team

• Manolo Marquez has been appointed as the new head coach of the Indian men’s football team by the All India Football Federation (AIFF) on Saturday - July 20. Marquez will take over as the full-time national team head coach after ISL 2024-25.

OVL Hikes Stake in Azerbaijani Oilfield with $60 Million Investment

• ONGC Videsh Limited (OVL), a subsidiary of ONGC, has acquired Norwegian firm Equinor’s stake in Azerbaijan’s offshore Azeri Chirag Gunashli (ACG) oil field and an associated oil pipeline for $60 million. This increases OVL’s stake in the oil field to 2.95% and in the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) pipeline to 3.097%.
