Warships Nilgiri and Surat were delivered to the Indian navy
- In a historic milestone for the country's Aatmanirbharta, journey, two warships, a destroyer (Surat) and a frigate (Nilgiri) were delivered to the Indian Navy on 20 Dec 2024. The ships have been designed and constructed indigenously by the Warship Design Bureau of the Indian Navy and M/s MDL, respectively.

India awarded hosting rights for ISSF Junior World Cup 2025
- India has been awarded the hosting rights for next year’s ISSF Junior World Cup including competitions in rifle, pistol and shotgun disciplines. The National Rifle Association of India (NRAI) said, hosting rights of international events has strengthened India’s stature as one of the sport’s top destinations in the world. The dates of the tournament are yet to be finalized.
Richa Ghosh Smashes Record-Breaking Fifty in Women’s T20Is
- India's Richa Ghosh hit the joint-fastest fifty in the women's T20Is on Thursday, 19 December. Playing the deciding 3rd T20I against West Indies, Richa reached her feat in just 18 balls, matching Sophie Devine and Phoebe Litchfield's record.

Salman Khan appointed brand ambassador of the first Kho-Kho World Cup
- Bollywood star Salman Khan has been appointed as the brand ambassador for the inaugural Kho Kho World Cup, set to take place in New Delhi from January 13 to 19, 2025. The event will feature teams from 24 countries and is expected to elevate Kho Kho's global profile.
Former Supreme Court Judge Madan Lokur Appointed as United Nations IJC Chairperson

Centre, ADB sign $350 million loan agreement to strengthen India’s logistics ecosystem
- The Centre and the Asian Development Bank (ADB) have signed a 350 million dollar policy-based loan agreement. This loan is part of the second subprogram of the Strengthening Multimodal and Integrated Logistics Ecosystem (SMILE) program. The program the government in undertaking wide-ranging reforms in the country’s logistics sector. It includes two subprograms aimed at boosting manufacturing and improving supply chain resilience.
