JP Nadda Inaugurates the 2nd Global Food Regulators Summit 2024
- Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare, Jagat Prakash Nadda (JP Nadda), inaugurated the second edition of the Global Food Regulators Summit 2024 in New Delhi. The 2nd Global Food Regulators Summit 2024 is organised alongside the 3rd World Food India 2024.
PM Modi lays foundation stone for PM Mega Integrated Textile Regions and Apparel Park
- Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone of PM Mega Integrated Textile Regions and Apparel (PM MITRA) Park in Maharashtra’s Amravati, The 1000-acre park is being developed by the Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) as the State Implementation Agency. The central government had approved setting up 7 PM MITRA Parks for the textile industry.

Jasprit Bumrah becomes 10th Indian bowler to reach 400 international wickets
- Indian pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah on Friday completed 400 wickets in international cricket, becoming the 10th bowler from India to achieve this feat. Bumrah reached this milestone during India’s first Test against Bangladesh in Chennai, With this achievement, Bumrah’s international tally now stands at 401 wickets from 196 matches, averaging an impressive 21.01.

Anurag Garg Appointed as New NCB’s Director General
- Anurag Garg, a 1993-batch IPS officer from the Himachal Pradesh cadre, has been appointed as the Director General of the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC). Currently serving as Additional DG in the Border Security Force (BSF), Garg’s tenure as NCB DG will last until May 23, 2026, or until further orders.
South Korean Ambassador Elected as President of IAEA General Conference
- South Korea's Ambassador to Austria Ham Sang-wook has been elected as the president of the 68th General Conference of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), An international organization within the United Nations.

- Dhruvi Patel, a Computer Information System student from the USA, has been declared the winner of Miss India Worldwide 2024, the longest running Indian pageant outside of India.
- About - Miss India Worldwide is a beauty pageant which draws contestants from India and from among members of the Indian diaspora residing in other countries, It is conducted by India Festival Committee (IFC), first founded and headed by Dharmatma Saran in New York City, USA.

Delhi airport climbs to 24th in megahub rankings, Mumbai falls to 44tth
- Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA) has climbed to 24th place in the latest ranking of global "megahub" airports, up from its previous 25th position, according to international aviation analytics firm OAG, However, both Delhi and Mumbai airports fare better in OAG’s ranking of megahub airports for low-cost carrier (LCC) operations. Thanks to IndiGo, the Delhi airport rose to 5th place, up from 6th last year, while Mumbai maintained its position at 11th.
Kerala Retains Top Spot In SFSI for Second Consecutive Year
- Kerala has once again secured first position in the State Food Safety Index (SFSI) 2024, marking the second consecutive year that the southern state has claimed the spot. The report was released in the inaugural session of FSSAI Global Food Regulators Summit 2024.
