JD Vance takes oath as US Vice President
- Usha Vance became the first Indian-American and Hindu Second Lady after her husband J.D. Vance was sworn in as the 50th Vice President of the US.
Donald Trump Takes Oath as 47th President of United States
- Donald Trump has been sworn in as the 47th President of the United States, taking the oath of office for his second term. Chief Justice John Roberts administered the oath at the Capitol Rotunda in Washington, DC, Cannons were fired in salute as Hail to the Chief played. JD Vance took the oath as Vice President, administered by Justice Brett Kavanaugh. At 40, Vance became the 50th vice president and the third youngest in US history.

Uttarakhand Clears Uniform Civil Code Rules
- Uttarakhand is set to become the first state in India to implement the Uniform Civil Code (UCC), as the state government has approved the UCC rules manual.
- UCC law includes seven schedules and 392 sections, addressing critical issues such as marriage, divorce, inheritance, and live-in relationships. It aims to eliminate practices like polygamy, polyandry, Halala, Iddat, and Talaaq.
Southern India Science Fair 2025 to begin in Puducherry
- Showcasing the best of science and technology from South Indian schools, the Southern India Science Fair 2025 is set to kick off today (January 21) in Puducherry at the Old Port Ground, Goubert Avenue. Puducherry Lieutenant Governor K. Kailashnathan will inaugurate the fair in the presence of Chief Minister N. Rangasamy, Legislative Assembly Speaker Selvam R and Education Minister A. Namassivayam.

RBI asks banks to use special number series to prevent fraud
