India & Sri Lanka Signs agreement for LNG Infrastructure Development
- A Memorandum of Understanding was signed between Indian company ‘Petronet LNG limited’ and a Sri Lanka based private company for infrastructure development and supply of Liquified Natural Gas in Colombo. Sri Lanka’s Minister for Power and Energy Kanchana Wijesekara and Deputy High Commissioner of India Dr. Satyanjal Pandey witnessed the signing of the MoU.

- India’s first Constitution Museum, named “The Constitution Academy and The Rights & Freedoms Museum,” is set to be inaugurated by OP Jindal Global University on November 26, 2024. This initiative celebrates the 75th anniversary of the adoption of the Indian Constitution.

ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 shifted to UAE amidst Bangladesh’s political unrest
- The International Cricket Council (ICC) announced that the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 has been relocated to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) due to political instability in Bangladesh.
- The tournament, originally scheduled to be held in Bangladesh, will now take place from October 3 to October 20 at two venues in the UAE—Dubai and Sharjah. The dates for the event remain unchanged.
Sinner and Sabalenka Cincinnati Open Titles
- Top-ranked Jannik Sinner and women's No. 2 Ayrna Sabalenka earned straight-set victories in the finals of the Cincinnati Open, the first titles at the tournament for both players.
- Sabalenka on Monday defeated Jessica Pegula 6-3 7-5 for her first title since the Australian Open in January.
- Sinner, who turned 23 on Friday, beat American Frances Tiafoe 7-6(4) 6-2 to become the youngest Cincinnati champion since 21-year-old Andy Murray won in 2008.

BIS Launches Hackathon to Promote Awareness of Indian Standards through Online Activities
- The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) has launched a Hackathon for students across institutes that have signed a Memorandum of Understanding with it. The aim of this hackathon is to cultivate interest, enhance knowledge, and raise awareness about Indian Standards and their crucial role in ensuring quality and safety for the general public and other BIS stakeholders.
- Under this event, the participants are tasked with designing and developing a platform for online activities and games focused on Indian Standards. All entries must be submitted by the 23rd of this month.
Manohar Lal Khattar Launches Three Online Platforms for Power Sector
- Union Minister of Power Manohar Lal Khattar has launched three online platforms to enhance the efficiency, transparency, and effectiveness of power sector in New Delhi. The portals are named as Portal for Online Monitoring of Projects – Thermal (PROMPT), Disaster Resilient Infrastructure for Power Sector (DRIPS) and JAL VIDYUT DPR.
