Nepal to Export Nearly 1000 MW Electricity to India

  • Nepal will export close to 1,000 MW of electricity to India, strengthening energy cooperation between the two nations, following productive talks between External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar and Nepal's Foreign Minister Arzu Rana Deuba. 

India-Malaysia decide to elevate their Enhanced Strategic partnership to Comprehensive Strategic Partnership

  • India and Malaysia have signed agreements in the fields of labour and employment, Ayurveda and traditional medicines, digital technologies, culture, tourism and cooperation in youth and sports. The two countries also inked agreements in the area of public administration in governance reforms and mutual cooperation. The agreements were signed after the delegation level talks held between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Malaysian counterpart  Dato’ Seri Anwar bin Ibrahim in New Delhi.

Andhra CM Inaugurates Projects and Deals worth Rs 3,683 Crore at Sri City

  • Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu inaugurated 16 industrial projects in Sri City and signed deals worth Rs 3,683 crore. These new ventures are anticipated to generate over 15,000 jobs, underscoring the State’s commitment to accelerating industrial growth through enhanced efficiency. 

CM Sukhu launches 'Mukhyamantri Bal Paushtik Aahar Yojana' in HP

  • Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu launched 'Mukhyamantri Bal Paushtik Aahar Yojana' to provide nutritious foods to schoolchildren and a scheme to provide free Tablets to primary school teachers to boost digitalisation in the state educational and administrative system. The scheme was launched by the chief minister Sukhu in Hamirpur, Himachal Pradesh, on 17 August 2024.

  • Shri Ashok Kumar Singh, IAS took over the charge of Director General of Employees' State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) under Ministry of Labour & Employment, Govt. of India at its Headquarters in New Delhi, Shri Ashok Kumar Singh is an IAS Officer of 1999 batch of Kerala cadre.

  • India's Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar hosted Japan's Minister of Defence, Kihara Minoru and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Yoko Kamikawa, for the third India-Japan 2+2 Ministerial Dialogue on Tuesday (August 20) in New Delhi. 

Rising Rajasthan - Investment Summit 2024

  • The Rajasthan government has received investment proposals amounting to over Rs 5.21 lakh crore (approximately USD 62 billion) in the lead-up to the ‘Rising Rajasthan’ Investment Summit 2024, The 'Rising Rajasthan' Investment Summit 2024 will be organised on December 9-11, 2024, in the capital city of Jaipur and the 3-day mega summit aims to attract and facilitate global investment, innovation, and associations into the state.

PNB launches Braille Debit Card for visually impaired customers

  • State-owned Punjab National Bank has launched the PNB ANTAH DRISHTI Braille Debit Card, designed for visually impaired customers, this contactless National Common Mobility Card (NCMC) debit card is available on RuPay network. 

NCLT Approves Slice and North East Small Finance Bank Merger

  • Fintech company Slice has received approval from the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) for its merger with North East Small Finance Bank. The Guwahati bench of the NCLT has sanctioned the scheme of arrangement and amalgamation involving several entities, including Garagepreneurs Internet, Quadrillion Finance, Intergalactory Foundry, RGVN (North East) Microfinance, and North East Small Finance Bank.
