India and Mauritania Signes Four MoUs

  • India and Mauritania have taken a significant step towards enhancing their bilateral relations by signing four Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) during Indian President Droupadi Murmu’s visit to the North African country.
  • During the visit, four MoUs were signed between India and Mauritania, aiming to enhance collaboration in multiple areas.

These MoUs focused on:

  1. Training of Diplomats
  2. Cultural Exchange
  3. Visa Exemption
  4. Foreign Office Consultations 

India and Germany to ink pact on labour mobility and sskill recognition

  • To facilitate the movement of workers between India and Germany and recognise skills, the two countries are set to ink a pact next week, through the agreement, skilled professionals here can be easily absorbed by German industry, sources familiar with the development said.

  • Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the ‘Karmayogi Saptah’, or National Learning Week, on Saturday (October 19) at the Dr. Ambedkar International Centre in New Delhi. The initiative aims to bolster individual and organizational capacity development for civil servants across the nation.

  • The Indian Coast Guard successfully conducted the coastal security exercise ‘Sagar Kavach’ on October 16-17 across Gujarat and the Union Territory of Daman & Diu.

Pubudu Dasanayake Appointed Mentor of Nepal Cricket Team for Upcoming Triangular Series in US

  • The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) has appointed Pubudu Dasanayake as the mentor of the Nepali team, which is set to participate in a triangular cricket series from October 25 to November 4 under the ICC World Cricket League 2 to be held in the US

Kotak Mahindra Bank to buy Rs 4.1K cr India personal loan book  

  • Leading private sector lender Kotak Mahindra Bank Limited (KMBL) has entered into an agreement to acquire the Rs 4,100 crore India personal loan portfolio of British banking major Standard Chartered Bank. The deal, for which the financial terms remain undisclosed, is subject to regulatory approval.
