CAG inks pact with top audit institution of Uzbekistan

  • The Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) of India has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the supreme audit institution of Uzbekistan in Tashkent, The agreement with the Chamber of Accounts of Uzbekistan aims to enhance collaboration and exchange expertise in auditing.

Rajnath Singh inaugurates Regional Marine Pollution Response Centre at ICG headquarter

  • Defence Minister Rajnath Singh inaugurated the Regional Marine Pollution Response Centre at ICG Regional headquarters in Chennai, The Regional Marine Response Centre will facilitate coordination among countries within a region, ensuring a unified approach to oil spill response. It can mobilise a more effective response to oil spills and provide access to specialised equipment, trained personnel, and technological innovations that may be beyond the capabilities of individual countries. 

Sarbananda Sonowal launches SOP for Green Tug Transition Program

  • The Union Minister of Port Shipping and Waterways, Shri Sarbananda Sonowal officially launched the SOP for Green Tug Transition Program (GTTP) in New Delhi. This landmark initiative is set to drive the transition from conventional fuel-based harbour tugs to greener, more sustainable alternatives, marking a major step in India's commitment to environmental sustainability and the advancement of its maritime sector.

Hockey India retires No. 16 jersey in honour of retired goalkeeper PR Sreejesh

  • Hockey India has announced that it is retiring the No. 16 jersey as a tribute to goalkeeper PR Sreejesh, who retired from the sport after India's Paris Olympics campaign. Indian sports has never been big on gestures but PR Sreejesh's retirement function here was marked by several of them, all grand and unprecedented.

World Humanitarian Day

  • World Humanitarian Day, established by the United Nations, is observed on August 19 annually to honour humanitarian workers who risk their lives to provide aid and assistance to people in need. The day is also an occasion to raise awareness of global humanitarian efforts.

National Institute for MSME (NI-MSME), Hyderabad has been awarded Accreditation Certification as - UTKRISHT

  • National Institute for MSME (NI-MSME), Hyderabad an Organisation of Ministry of MSME, Government of India, has been awarded with Accreditation Certificate on the successful completion on National Standards for Civil Services Training Institutions (NSCSTI) process in recognition of excellent services in the field of promotion and development of MSMEs. The assessment was made based on the inspection of all Standard Operating Procedures and Methodologies followed by the Institute at different levels. The team from Capacity Building Commission (CBC) & ICARE conducted On-site assessment and awarded the Certificate of Accreditation with the grading of UTKRISHT, a 3 Star Rating.

India's first Nifty Top 10 Equal Weight Index Fund and ETF

  • DSP Mutual Fund has launched two new offerings: the Nifty Top 10 Equal Weight Index Fund and its corresponding ETF. Both funds aim to provide investors with exposure to the top 10 companies listed on the Nifty Index, with each stock receiving equal weight in the portfolio.
