PM Modi launches Sakriya Sadasyata Abhiyan, says ‘proud to be first Sadasya’

  • Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the Sakriya Sadasyata Abhiyan in the presence of BJP National President J P Nadda. In a social media post, Mr Modi said, as a party worker, he is proud to become the first Sakriya Sadasya. 

Kaksar Bridge Renamed in Honor of Kargil War Hero Capt. Amit Bhardwaj

  • Kaksar Bridge has been renamed Amit Bhardwaj Setu to honor the sacrifice of Capt. Amit Bhardwaj during the Kargil War. The event, attended by prominent military and civil officials, including CEC Dr. Mohd Jaffer Akhoon and Major General K. Mahesh, SM, celebrated Bhardwaj’s bravery and dedication to his nation. 

Kaziranga emerges India’s second butterfly diversity hub

  • With 446 species, Kaziranga National Park, emerges India's second butterfly diversity hub. Years of research carried out by Dr Monsoon Jyoti Gogoi, a young scientist from Kaziranga, has brought to the fore that more than 446 butterfly species have been reported from the park.

KKFI unveils logo and tagline for first-ever Kho Kho World Cup

  • Kho Kho Federation of India, KKFI, today unveiled the logo and tagline for the first-ever Kho Kho World Cup which will be held in New Delhi next year. The tournament will organised between 13th and 19th January at Indira Gandhi Stadium.

Justice Sanjiv Khanna set to be the 51st Chief Justice of India

  • Justice Sanjiv Khanna is set to become the 51st Chief Justice of India (CJI), following the recommendation by current CJI DY Chandrachud in a letter to the Union law ministry. Justice Khanna, the second-most senior judge of the Supreme Court, will take over the position after Justice Chandrachud’s retirement on November 10, 2024.

Two-day International Methanol Seminar and Expo 2024 Held in New Delhi

  • NITI Aayog will organize a two-day international methanol seminar and expo 2024 from tomorrow (17 October) in New Delhi. The event will be held in collaboration with the Methanol Institute of the United States. This event will highlight the progress of projects, products, and Research and Development initiatives related to Methanol production, application, and allied technological developments in the world. 

7th International Solar Alliance Assembly session to be held from Nov 3

  • The Seventh Session of the International Solar Alliance Assembly will be held at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi from 3rd of next month. The four-day event will continue till 6th of November.

Bikaji to acquire majority stake in Hazelnut Factory for Rs 131 crore

  • Bikaji Foods International (Bikaji), one of India’s largest ethnic snacks brands hsd announced that its wholly owned subsidiary, Bikaji Foods Retail, will make a strategic investment of Rs 131.01 crore for a 53.02 per cent stake in Hazelnut Factory Food Products, a café-cum-artisanal sweets brand based in Lucknow. 

HDFC Opens First Singapore Branch to Expand Global Presence

  • HDFC Bank has officially opened its first branch in Singapore as part of its strategy to expand its international operations. Granted a wholesale banking license by the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS), effective from October 15, 2024, the bank aims to offer a variety of financial products and services to residents of Singapore.
