NITI Aayog’s Women Entrepreneurship Platform has partnered with Urban Company

  • Under its award to reward initiative, NITI Aayog’s WEP launched a pilot program with Urban Company, the pilot program has launched to support women MSMEs to scale up their businesses in the beauty and wellness sector, The program is focused on providing support to women entrepreneurs owning local salons and parlours. 

Asia’s largest open-air trade fair ‘Bali Jatra’ started in Odisha

  • Bali Jatra, Asia’s largest open-air trade fair, is observed to celebrate Odisha’s ancient sea-trading history, this year’s fair started on the full moon day of Kartika and will end on 22nd November.
  • It is observed in the memory of Odisha’s old tradition of traders sailing to distant lands in boats called Boitas from the Mahanadi River during Kartika Purnima, Cultural groups from Odisha and other states will perform dances like Odissi, Chhau, Bihu, Mahari, Gotipua, etc. on this occasion. 

Siddaramaiah to inaugurate 3-day Bengaluru Tech Summit

  • Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah will inaugurate the 27th Bengaluru Tech Summit (BTS) here on November 19, the three-day tech conclave is organised by the Department of Electronics, IT and BT of Karnataka government. Australia is the official country partner for the event.
  • This year, Bengaluru Tech Summit takes on the theme of being unbound, embracing the spirit of breaking boundaries and redefining what's possible. 

Indian Army set to honour 1962 War Heroes with Events at two war memorials

  • As a tribute to the courage and sacrifice of the Indo-China War heroes of 1962, the Indian Army will organise commemorative events at two war memorials in Arunachal Pradesh on November 17 and 18. The two war memorials are the Jaswant Garh War Memorial in Tawang, where the events will be held on November 17, and the Nyukmadung War Memorial in West Kameng District on November 18. 

Delhi govt inaugurates 1st all-women - Sakhi bus depot

  • Delhi Transport Minister Kailash Gahlot on Saturday inaugurated the world's first all-women bus depot, named 'Sakhi Depot' in Sarojini Nagar.
  • The initiative features an entirely female workforce, including drivers, conductors, and other staff. It is part of a broader vision to create a more inclusive and gender-equal work environment.

Anshul Kamboj bags all 10 wickets in an inning of Ranji Trophy

  • Lanky Haryana fast bowler Anshul Kamboj created history by taking all the 10 wickets of Kerala in a Ranji Trophy match. He achieved this milestone when he dismissed Shoun Roger of Kerala to return with a match figure 10 for 49 in his 30.1 overs. The Ranji Trophy Elite Group C match between Haryana and Kerala is being played at the Chaudhary Bansi Lal Stadium in Lahli, Haryana.

Arvinder Singh Sahney appointed Chairman of Indian Oil Corporation

  • Indian Oil Corporation announced the appointment of Arvinder Singh Sahney as the Chairman of the company. The appointment came into effect on November 13 as the additional charge of chairman entrusted to V Satish Kumar, came to an end.

International Students Day

  • International Students' Day is an international observance of the student community, held annually on 17 November, the day was first marked in 1941 in London by the International Students' Council in memory of those Students who sacrificed their lives in the struggle against the fascists during World War II. 

World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims

  • The World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims takes place on the third Sunday in November every year to acknowledge victims of road traffic crashes and their families. It will be 2024 be commemorated on 17 November 2024. 

National Epilepsy Day: India

  • National Epilepsy Day is observed every year on November 17 in India to raise awareness about epilepsy and its impact on individuals, families, and society. through the Epilepsy Foundation of India, initiated this day to provide assistance to those unable to afford treatment, dispel myths, and create awareness about epilepsy symptoms and management.
