Rwanda's Kagame wins fourth term with 99% of vote

  • Paul Kagame has won a fourth term as Rwanda's President with 99.15% of the vote, continuing his leadership since 2000. President Paul Kagame has secured a decisive victory in Rwanda's 2024 presidential election, capturing 99.15% of the votes, as reported by the National Electoral Commission.

  • Minister of State for Science and Technology, Dr. Jitendra Singh inaugurated Asia’s first health research-related “Pre-clinical Network facility” at the Translational Health Science & Technology Institute” (THSTI). 

Indore creates world record, plants 1.1 million saplings in a day

  • Indore set a new Guinness World Record in the category of "the most trees planted by a team in 24 hours" by planting more than 1.1 million saplings, a mega plantation drive was organized to set a world record at Revati Range by the state government where more than 60,000 people from different walks of life participated.

India Wins 4 Medals at the 35th International Biology Olympiad 2024

  • The Indian team, which participated at the 35th International Biology Olympiad (IBO) 2024 achieved remarkable success, with one student winning a GOLD medal and three students securing SILVER medals.
  • Vedant Sakre from Mumbai, Maharashtra won a gold medal while Ishan Pednekar from Ratnagiri, Maharashtra, Shrijith Sivakumar from Chennai, Tamil Nadu and Yashashwi Kumar from Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh bagged a silver medal each.

Jyotiraditya Scindia launches NERACE Portal and Mobile App

  • Union Minister for the Development of the North East Region Jyotiraditya Scindia launched the North East Region Agri Commodity E-Connect (NERACE) App and web portal designed to benefit the farmers of the region and help position it as a hub of high-value horticultural products in the international market.
  • The NERACE app is intended to support agricultural and horticultural products such as spices, fruits, vegetables, pulses, cereals, and minor forest products.

Sumant Sinha appointed Co-Chair of Global CEO Climate Leaders Alliance

  • Sumant Sinha, Chairman and CEO of ReNew, has been named Co-Chair of the Alliance of CEO Climate Leaders, the largest CEO-led climate alliance in the world, and a flagship initiative of the World Economic Forum, Together, they will work closely with a cohort of 130-member CEOs across 12 Industries on driving strategic priorities of the Alliance. 

Former CS Manoj Saunik appointed as next MahaRERA Chairman

  • The state government on Tuesday appointed former chief secretary of Maharashtra, Manoj Saunik, as the next chairman of the Maharashtra Real Estate Regulatory Authority (MahaRERA). Saunik will succeed the current chairman and his close friend, Ajoy Mehta, whose term ends in September 2024

SBI launches Amrit Vrishti 444-Days Term Deposit With 7.25% Interest Rate

  • SBI introduces "Amrit Vrishti," a term deposit scheme with 7.25% annual interest on 444-day deposits, effective from July 15, 2024. Senior citizens receive an additional 0.50%. Available until March 31, 2025, customers can invest via SBI branches, YONO, Yono Lite, and Internet Banking.
