India and Argentina hold 7th round of Foreign Office Consultations in Buenos Aires

• The 7th round of Foreign Office Consultations (FOCs) between India and Argentina was held on September 13 in Buenos Aires, co-chaired by Jaideep Mazumdar, Secretary (East) from India’s Ministry of External Affairs, and Leopoldo Francisco Sahores, Argentina’s Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs. The previous round of FOCs took place in November 2021 in New Delhi.

VP Jagdeep Dhankhar inaugurated the Constitution Temples

• Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar inaugurated ‘Constitution Temples’ at the vocational training centres in 434 Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) across Maharashtra in an event organised in Mumbai on Sunday ( September 15 ). 

VP Jagdeep Dhankhar inaugurated the Digital Tower at Ramdeobaba University, Nagpur

• Vice-President, Jagdeep Dhankhar Nagpur inaugurated the Digital Tower at Ramdeobaba University, (September 15 ). Governor C.P. Radhakrishnan, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis were also present on this occasion.
• The digital tower is a 12 storied building consisting of digital classrooms equipped with the latest systems catering to the needs of computer science and emerging technologies. 

PM Narendra Modi inaugurated 4th RE Invest Global Industrial Meet in Gujarat

• Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurated the fourth RE Invest Global Industrial Meet at Mahatma Mandir in Gandhinagar. Modi also flagged off the second phase of the Ahmedabad Metro connecting Ahmedabad to Gandhinagar and GIFT City. 

DPIIT set to launch BHASKAR platform for startups

• Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade, DPIIT is set to launch a digital platform – BHASKAR- aimed at strengthening India’s startup ecosystem. The Bharat Startup Knowledge Access Registry, BHASKAR initiative, is a platform designed to centralize, streamline, and enhance collaboration among key stakeholders within the entrepreneurial ecosystem. This initiative aligns with Government’s vision to transform India into a global leader in innovation and entrepreneurship. 

Adani firms to sign 6.6 Gw power supply pact with Maharashtra discom

• Adani group entities - Adani Green Energy (AGEL) and Adani Power (APL) - announced on Sunday that they will sign a long-term power purchase agreement (PPA) with Maharashtra’s largest electricity distribution utility to supply the state with a 6.6 gigawatt (GW) of combined solar and thermal power. 

IIL Partners with ICMR for India's First Zika Vaccine

• Indian Immunologicals Limited (IIL) has joined hands with the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) to develop India's first Zika virus vaccine. They have signed an agreement called a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) to work together on this project. 

India's second largest butterfly species discovered in Madurai

• India's second largest butterfly species, Southern Birdwing, has been found on the satellite campus of The American College between Chathirapatti and Kadavur on New Natham Highway in Madurai district.

Oscar Piastri won the Azerbaijan Grand Prix

• Oscar Piastri of McLaren secured his first Formula 1 victory at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix, marking a significant milestone in his career. The race, held at the Baku City Circuit, concluded under a virtual safety car due to a late crash, adding an element of drama to the final moments.

International Day for the Preservation of the Ozone

• International Day for the Preservation of the Ozone Layer is celebrated on September 16 as designed by the United Nations General Assembly. This designation had been made on December 19, 2000, in commemoration of the date, in 1987, on which nations signed the Montreal Protocol on Substances that Deplete the Ozone Layer.
