KP Sharma Oli Sworn in as Prime Minister of Nepal
- P. Sharma Oli was sworn in as Nepal’s Prime Minister for the fourth time. The leader of Nepal’s largest communist party was appointed Nepal’s Prime Minister on July 14, by President Ram Chandra Paudel to lead a new coalition government that faces the daunting challenge of providing political stability in the Himalayan nation.

Uttarakhand Forest Department Opens Its First-Ever Bird Gallery in Dehradun
- The research wing of the Uttarakhand Forest Department established Uttarakhand’s first bird gallery at the Nature Education Centre in Jolly Grant Dehradun. It’s a spot where nature fans can explore the vibrant world of Uttarakhand’s birds, Uttarakhand has the highest number of bird species reported in India, with over 710 species, which is more than 50 percent of the country’s bird species.

Argentina won Copa America title beating Colombia in final
- Argentina won their 16th Copa America Football title by defeating Colombia 1-0 in the final of the 48th Copa America, played at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, the United States of America, on 15 July 2024 (Indian Time).
- The 48th Copa America was hosted by the United States of America from 21 June - to 15 July 2024, and 16 countries' men’s football teams participated in it.
Indian Sand Artist Sudarshan Won Gold Medal in International Sand Sculpture Championship
- Renowned Indian sand artist Sudarsan Pattnaik won Golden sand master award with a gold medal at international sand sculpture championship/festival, held at St. Petersburg (Russia).
- Twenty one World’s master sand sculptor participated in this championship held from July 4 to July 12 on the theme “History, mythology and fairy tales”. Pattnaik,the only participant from India has created a 12 feet high sand Ratha ( chariot) of Mahaprabhu Jagannath with his devotee and poet Balaram Das.
Bhavtegh wins silver medal at Junior ISSF World Cup
- India’s Bhavtegh Singh Gill won the silver medal in the men’s skeet event at the final day of the ISSF Junior World Cup in Porpetto, Italy.
- Bhavtegh, a silver winner at the Junior Asian Championships last year, shot 52 in the six-man final to finish behind American Benjamin Keller, who shot 56 out of the 60 allotted clay targets, to grab the gold medal.

Nirma University Wins Robot Competition DD-Robocon India 2024
- The team of Institute of Technology, Nirma University won the Robot Competition DD-Robocon India 2024. The two day event began on Saturday at Thyagaraj Stadium in New Delhi. This event was organised by Prasar Bharati and IIT Delhi. The winning team will now represent India at the international Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union Robocon 2024 in QuangNinh, Vietnam.

PCB appoints Tony Hemming as chief curator for 2 years
- The Pakistan Cricket Board has appointed Australia's Tony Hemming as its new chief curator on a two-year contract, Australian curator Hemming has worked in the past with ICC, and has four decades of experience in pitch and outfield management.
Vikram Misri Assumes Charge as Foreign Secretary of India
- Vikram Misri assumed the charge of Foreign Secretary of India. The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) expressed warm regards and best wishes to Foreign Secretary Misri for a successful tenure ahead.
- Misri, 59, succeeds Vinay Mohan Kwatra, whose tenure was marked by notable achievements in foreign policy and national security. External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar acknowledged Kwatra’s contributions, particularly highlighting his strategic acumen in shaping and executing key policies over the past decade.

SEBI slaps Rs 25 lakh fine on Monetary Solutions for violating market norms
- Capital markets regulator SEBI levied a fine of Rs 25 lakh on Monetary Solutions for flouting regulatory rules.
- The Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi) inspected Monetary Solutions (Proprietor Ankit Vyas), a Sebi-registered individual investment adviser during September 19-23, 2022.
