JNU to Introduce Centre for Hindu, Buddhist & Jain Studies

  • The Jawaharlal Nehru University is set to establish specialized centres for Hindu, Buddhist and Jain studies, as part of its School of Sanskrit and Indic Studies, The decision to set up the new centres was approved by the Executive Council of the Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) in a meeting on May 29. 

PM inaugurates Indian Newspaper Society (INS) Towers in Mumbai, Maharashtra

  • Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi inaugurated the INS Towers on his visit to the Indian Newspaper Society (INS) Secretariat at G-Block, Bandra Kurla Complex, Mumbai. The new building will fulfill the evolving needs of Members of INS for a modern and efficient office space in Mumbai and would serve as the nerve center for the newspaper industry in Mumbai. 

Amit Shah to Inaugurate Prime Minister College Of Excellence in All 55 District Of Madhya Pradesh

  • Union Home Minister Amit Shah will inaugurate Prime Minister College of Excellence in all 55 districts of Madhya Pradesh from Indore today (July 14) Earlier Mr. Amit Shah reviewed the implementation of the Vibrant Villages Programme at a high-level meeting in New Delhi yesterday (July 13).

  • India Champions beats Pakistan Champions by 5 wickets in the final of World Championship of Legends WCL 2024 in Birmingham on Saturday (July 13). Chasing 157, India reached 159/5 in 19.1 overs, with Ambati Rayudu getting a half-century, smacking 50 off just 30 balls. 

Barbora Krejcíkova won the Women’s Singles Title: Wimbledon 2024

  • Barbora Krejcikova of the Czech Republic defeated Jasmine Paolini of Italy 6-2, 2-6, 6-4 to win her maiden Wimbledon women’s singles title London.

India to organize World Audio Visual & Entertainment Summit from 20th -24th November

  • Union Minister of Information and Broadcasting, Shri Ashwani Vaishnaw announced that India will host World Audio Visual and Entertainment Summit, a landmark event for the Media and Entertainment industry world over, in Goa, from 20th to 24th November, The Minister made this announcement at a curtain raiser event in New Delhi along with Chief Minister of Goa Shri Pramod Sawant and Union Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Dr. L. Murugan.

International honour for Andhra Pradesh Community Managed Natural Farming (APCNF) program

  • The Andhra Pradesh Community Managed Natural Farming (APCNF) program, led by the Government of Andhra Pradesh, has been awarded the prestigious Gulbenkian Prize for Humanity 2024, the announcement was made by Dr. Angela Merkel, chair of the Jury and former Federal Chancellor of Germany, during a ceremony in Lisbon, Portugal on July 11th.
