Ilie Bolojan takes over as Romania’s Interim President
- Centrist Liberal Party leader Ilie Bolojan became Romania’s interim president. Ilie Bolojan who was also the senate speaker and a mayor and county council head, took over from centrist Klaus Iohannis, who resigned as president on Monday to pre-empt an impeachment bid by opposition parties.
Ayush Ministry tie-up with Indonesia to boost quality of traditional medicines
- The Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi and the President of Indonesia, Mr Prabowo Subianto witnessed the Exchange of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between India and Indonesia on January 25, 2025, at Hyderabad House, in New Delhi. One of the MoUs exchanged between India and Indonesia is in the Field of Traditional Medicine Quality Assurance between the Pharmacopoeia Commission for Indian Medicine & Homeopathy, the Ministry of Ayush and the Indonesian Food and Drug Authority.
Global defence firm Saab signs MoU with HAL for laser warning system
- Saab, a leading defence and security company, has signed an agreement (MoU) with Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) to collaborate on the Electronic Warfare land Laser Warning System-310 (LWS-310), The MoU provides for a "Maintenance Transfer of Technology, which aligns with the Indian Defence Procurement Procedure so that HAL will gain the capability to manufacture LWS-310 within India.
Jotham Napat Becomes Vanuatu’s New PM
- Jotham Napat was elected as Vanuatu’s new Prime Minister, securing the position unopposed. His nomination was proposed by Charlot Salwai, leader of the Reunification Movement for Change and a former prime minister. Ishmael Kalsakau, another former prime minister and MP for Port Vila, confirmed there were no other nominations and congratulated Napat on his election.
Romania’s President Iohannis resigns
- Romania’s outgoing centrist President Klaus Iohannis has resigned amid a concerted push by far-right parliamentary parties to have him impeached in the wake of a contentious election.

Microsoft partners with Hyderabad state govt for AI growth
- Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy inaugurated a new campus of Microsoft as the company celebrates its journey of 25 years in Hyderabad. The state-of-the-art 1.1 million sq ft LEED-certified building at Gachibowli, the city's IT hub would house 2,500 additional employees.
- On the occasion, Microsoft also announced another landmark initiative partnering with the Government of Telangana to impart AI training to over 1.2 lakh people in the state.

- World Congenital Heart Defect Awareness Day is celebrated on February 14th each year, raising awareness about congenital heart defects (CHDs), which are structural abnormalities of the heart present at birth; essentially, it's a day to highlight the experiences of individuals living with these conditions and advocate for better understanding and treatment options.
Black Day: India
- February 14 will forever remain etched in India’s memory as the day when one of the deadliest terrorist attacks in the country’s history unfolded. On that fateful afternoon in 2019, a convoy of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) was targeted by a suicide bomber in Pulwama, Jammu and Kashmir, resulting in the tragic loss of 40 brave soldiers.
