UAE’s ADNOC Gas signs 14-year LNG Supply Agreement with Indian Oil Corporation

  • Abu Dhabi National Oil Company has finalized a major long-term agreement to supply liquefied natural gas to Indian Oil Corporation Ltd, marking a significant expansion of energy cooperation between the UAE and India. The 14-year sales and purchase agreement (SPA), valued between $7 billion and $9 billion, will provide IndianOil with up to 1.2 million tonnes of LNG annually starting in 2026.

Giriraj Singh inaugurates Bharat TEX 2025 in Greater Noida

  • Bharat TEX 2025, India’s largest global textile Event was officially inaugurated by Minister of Textile, Giriraj Singh at India Expo Mart in Greater Noida(12 February) today, Bharat Tex 2025, the second edition is taking place from February 12th till the 15th of February at India Expo Mart, Greater Noida and the other, from 14th to 17th of February at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi. 

IIITDM Kancheepuram and ERNET India Collaborate to Establish Joint Research Lab for IoT

  • The Indian Institute of Information Technology, Design and Manufacturing (IIITDM) Kancheepuram has entered into a significant partnership with the Education and Research Network of India (ERNET), an autonomous scientific society under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY). The collaboration aims to enhance research and development in cutting-edge technologies.

Shikhar Dhawan Named ICC Champions Trophy 2025 Ambassador

  • The upcoming ICC Champions Trophy, scheduled to be held from February 19 to March 9, 2025, in Pakistan and Dubai, is already creating a buzz in the cricket world. Adding to the excitement, former India opener Shikhar Dhawan has been named as one of the four official event ambassadors for the prestigious tournament, the other three are Sarfaraz Ahmed, Shane Watson and Tim Southee.

ISRO & IIT Madras Unveil Indigenous Chip for Space App

  • In a significant stride towards self-reliance in space technology, the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) and the Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT Madras) have collaboratively developed and successfully booted an indigenous semiconductor chip named ‘IRIS’ (Indigenous RISC-V Microprocessor for Space Applications).

  • World Radio Day is an international day celebrated on the 13th of February each year. The day was designated by UNESCO on the 3rd of November, 2011, during its 36th conference.

Corruption Perceptions Index (CPI) 2024

  • The Corruption Perceptions Index (CPI) 2024, released by Transparency International, ranks India at 96th position out of 180 countries, with a score of 38—a decline from 39 in 2023 and 40 in 2022. The CPI evaluates nations based on perceived levels of public sector corruption, using a scale from 0 (highly corrupt) to 100 (very clean), Denmark (1st) is the least corrupt nation, followed by Finland (2nd) and Singapore (3rd). 

India’s Rank Improves in WB’s Logistics Performance Index Report

  • According to the World Bank's 'Logistics Performance Index Report (2023), India ranks 38 out of 139 countries, The rank of India has improved by six places from 44 in 2018 and sixteen places from 54 in 2014.

SIDBI partners with France's lender AFD for credit line

  • The Small Industries Development Bank of India has tied up with AFD, under which the French lender will provide a $100 million credit line, The resources will be deployed by Small Industries Development Bank of India (Sidbi) to scale up its green finance solutions for the Indian micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs).
