Indian Air Force to Participate In Exercise Pitch Back 2024 in Australia

  • The Indian Air Force (IAF) has reached the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) Base Darwin, ready to participate in Exercise Pitch Black 2024, set to be the largest iteration in the event’s 43-year history, Scheduled from July 12 to August 2, this biennial multinational exercise will bring together 20 countries, featuring over 140 aircraft and 4,400 military personnel.

Sanjay Seth launches GRSE Accelerated Innovation Nurturing Scheme (GAINS 2024)

  • Raksha Rajya Mantri Shri Sanjay Seth launched “GRSE Accelerated Innovation Nurturing Scheme (GAINS 2024) of Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers Limited (GRSE) in Kolkata on July 10, 2024. It is an innovative scheme which seeks solution to the problems related to the shipyards and promotes technology development using the start-ups created and nurtured in the country.

Indian badminton players won both the men’s and women’s singles titles at the 3rd BWF Saint-Denis Reunion Open 2024

  • India’s Tasnim Mir won the women’s single title and Tharun Mannepalli won the men’s singles title at the 3rd BWF Saint-Denis Reunion Open 2024. However, India had to settle for a silver in the men’s doubles. The Saint-Denis Reunion Open 2024 was held from 3 to 7 July in Saint-Denis, the capital of the French overseas département of Réunion in the Western Indian Ocean. 

PUMA India launches OOH campaign for Paris 2024

  • PUMA India announced a partnership with the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) as their Official Footwear Partner for the Paris Olympics. This collaboration includes providing over 100 Indian athletes with PUMA’s top-tier footwear and sports accessories. Additionally, PUMA has launched a major outdoor campaign named OOH to celebrate India’s participation in the 2024 Summer Olympics. 

Ben Stokes Joins Elite Club with 6,000 Runs & 200 Wickets in Tests

  • England all-rounder Ben Stokes joined the ranks of cricket legends Garry Sobers of the West Indies and Jacques Kallis of South Africa by becoming the third player, and the first from England to Join the Elite Club by scoring over 6,000 runs and taking 200 wickets in Test cricket.

8th Deputy National Security Adviser level meeting of the Colombo Security Conclave

  • The 8th Deputy National Security Adviser (DNSA) level meeting of the Colombo Security Conclave (CSC) was hosted virtually by Mauritius on 10 July 2024. India, Mauritius, Maldives and Sri Lanka welcomed Bangladesh as the fifth Member State of the CSC. Seychelles participated as an Observer State. 

2nd BIMSTEC Foreign Minister's Retreat

  • 2nd BIMSTEC Foreign Minister's Retreat is being held in New Delhi from 11-12 July 2024, External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar will host his counterparts for the BIMSTEC Foreign Minister's Retreat.
  • The Retreat will present an opportunity for the Foreign Ministers of the BIMSTEC countries to discuss, in an informal setting, avenues to broaden and deepen cooperation across various sectors including in the fields of security, connectivity, trade and investment, people to people contacts etc, in the Bay of Bengal region and littoral. 

India Leads Global Maritime Discourse at IMO Council Session in London

  • A high-level Indian delegation, led by Shri T.K. Ramachandaran, Secretary, Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, is participating in the 132nd session of the Council of the International Maritime Organization (IMO) in London.
  • India, an elected member of the IMO Council in the category of countries with the largest interest in international seaborne trade, emphasized the urgent issue of seafarer abandonment. The delegation pointed out that despite efforts, there are currently 44 active cases involving 292 Indian seafarers. India’s strong stance on the need for effective measures and oversight to resolve such issues was well received.

Nagaland Adjudged As Best State in Horticulture at Agriculture Leadership Awards 2024

  • Nagaland has been adjudged as the best state in Horticulture in the prestigious Agriculture Leadership Awards 2024. The award was given to the state for its outstanding work in introducing innovative programmes and policies for horticulture development, Nagaland’s Minister for Women Resource Development & Horticulture, Salhoutuonuo Kruse received the award at the 15th Agriculture Leadership Conclave held in New Delhi.

Kotak Mahindra Mutual Fund Launches BSE PSU Index Fund

  • Kotak Mahindra AMC has introduced the Kotak BSE PSU Index Fund, a passive equity scheme mirroring the BSE PSU Index comprising 56 PSU stocks. This fund aims to capitalize on the strong momentum in public sector undertaking (PSU) stocks, which have shown significant growth recently. Investors can participate in India’s economic trajectory through a cost-effective investment vehicle managed systematically by the fund.
