India and US collaborate for 'safe, secure, trustworthy' AI

• India and the United States (US) are working closely to enable ‘safe, secure, trustworthy’ artificial intelligence (AI) that can be applied in diverse societies, Seth Center, acting special envoy for critical and emerging technology, said on Thursday.

Tata Group-owned Air India places order for 85 planes with Airbus

• Tata Group-run Air India (A-I) has placed an order for 85 planes — 55 A320neo, 20 A321neo, five A350-900 and five A350-1000 planes — with European aircraft manufacturer Airbus. 

Kaimur Approved as Bihar’s Second Tiger Reserve

• The central government has given its in-principle approval for Bihar’s second tiger reserve in Kaimur district. This decision follows a proposal from the Bihar government to develop the Kaimur Wildlife Sanctuary (KWLS) into a tiger reserve. 

World’s Highest Imaging Cherenkov Telescope Unveiled in Ladakh

• Ajit Kumar Mohanty, Secretary of the Department of Atomic Energy (DAE) and Chairman of the Atomic Energy Commission, inaugurated the Major Atmospheric Cherenkov Experiment (MACE) Observatory in Hanle, Ladakh.

• Spain’s Rafael Nadal, who won 22 Grand Slam singles titles, said on Thursday he was putting an end to his professional tennis career, a decision effective after the Davis Cup final. 

38th National Games to be Held in Uttarakhand

• The Indian Olympic Association (IOA) has chosen Uttarakhand as the host for the 38th Summer National Games, scheduled to take place from 28th January to 14th February 2025. This announcement marks a significant achievement for the state, as it will be hosting the prestigious event for the first time,

• The Reserve Bank of India has appointed Partha Pratim Sengupta as the MD & CEO of Bandhan Bank, He has been appointed to the post for three years from the date of taking charge, which should not be later than November 10, the lender has informed the stock exchanges.

This initiative is part of the Indian Navy’s “Year of Naval Civilians,” aimed at promoting welfare and inclusivity.
