PM Modi and Macron inaugurate Indian Consulate in Marseille
- India strengthened its diplomatic and economic footprint in France as Prime Minister Narendra Modi and French President Emmanuel Macron jointly inaugurated the Indian Consulate in Marseille on February 12, 2025. This is India’s second diplomatic mission in France, after its embassy in Paris.

Indian Army and IAF conduct Joint military exercise - Winged Raider
- The Indian Army and the Indian Air Force jointly conducted a comprehensive training exercise named EX Winged Raiders in the Eastern Theater. The exercise which was focused on special airborne operations was aimed to enhance inter-service synergy. The joint military exercise is part of the government of India's effort to push for interoperability leading to the setting up of an integrated theatre command in the country.
President Murmu Inaugurates International Conference on Unani Day
- President Droupadi Murmu inaugurated the two-day International Conference on Unani Day in New Delhi. Minister of Science and Technology Dr. Jitendra Singh was also present on the occasion.
Dr Jitendra Singh inaugurates IIAS-DARPG India Conference 2025
- The IIAS-DARPG India Conference 2025 began in New Delhi on 10 February to discuss and explore innovations in public administration, governance, and policy-making.
- The five-day conference was formally inaugurated by Union Minister of State for the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances, and Pensions, Dr. Jitendra Singh on February 11.

Mumbai Open 2025 tennis: Jil Teichmann bags singles title
- Switzerland’s Jil Teichmann beat Thailand’s Mananchaya Sawangkaew in the final to win the singles title at the Mumbai Open 2025 tennis tournament.
- Meanwhile, in the doubles final, India’s Prarthana Thombare and her Dutch partner Arianne Hartono lost 6(4)-7(7), 6-2, 10-7 to second seeds Elena Pridankina and Amina Anshba after a hard-fought contest.
Rohit Sharma Becomes Second-Highest Six-Hitter in ODI History
- India’s skipper Rohit Sharma delivered a stellar performance in the second ODI against England in Cuttack, breaking multiple records while leading India to a four-wicket win. His 119-run knockoff 90 balls, featuring 12 fours and 7 sixes, helped him surpass Chris Gayle to become the second-highest six-hitter in ODI history, trailing only Shahid Afridi. Additionally, Rohit overtook Sachin Tendulkar to become the second-highest run-getter for India as an opener in international cricket.

Nokia named Intel's AI and data centre leader Justin Hotard as the new CEO
- Finnish telecoms company Nokia said Pekka Lundmark would step down as CEO, and that it has appointed Justin Hotard to take over his role, Hotard, who will take up the position on April 1, is currently the executive vice president and general manager of Data Center & AI Group at Intel.

- The International Day of Women and Girls in Science is an annual observance adopted by the United Nations General Assembly to promote the full and equal access and participation of women in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) fields, It is celebrated annually on February 11.

RBI Introduces Additional Factor Authentication (AFA) for International Transactions
- In a significant move to enhance digital payment security, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has announced the implementation of Additional Factor Authentication (AFA) for cross-border “Card Not Present” (CNP) transactions. This initiative aims to secure international transactions using Indian-issued cards, ensuring they are as safe and fraud-proof as domestic transactions.
