Infosys collaborates with Sector Alarm to transform core enterprise business systems on cloud

  • Indian IT services company Infosys announced a five-year collaboration with Sector Alarm, one of Europe's leading providers in security, to migrate their core enterprise business systems on the cloud, Infosys will work closely with Sector Alarm to migrate their disparate, on-premises Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) platform onto Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations (F&O). 

Gujarat govt signs agreement with Intel Corporation for AI readiness

  • The Gujarat government signed a partnership agreement with US-based technology company Intel Corporation for artificial intelligence (AI) readiness to make the state a hub for innovation and investment in the digital economy.

Tata Power Launches ‘Ghar Ghar Solar’ Initiative in Uttar Pradesh

  • Tata Power Solar Systems Limited has launched the ‘Ghar Ghar Solar’ initiative in Uttar Pradesh, starting from Varanasi, aimed at providing every home with clean energy through rooftop solar solutions. This initiative promises substantial financial savings and environmental benefits for residents.

ICC Player of the Month winner for June revealed

  • After his stellar T20 World Cup 2024 campaign in which he claimed Player of the Tournament honours, Jasprit Bumrah also claims the Men’s Player of the Month accolade for June.
  • India’s Smriti Mandhana has won the ICC Women’s Player of the Month Award for June, beating out England’s Maia Bouchier and Sri Lanka’s Vishmi Gunaratne for the accolade, the first of such in her international career.

RBI approves Govind Singh's re-appointment as MD & CEO of Utkarsh SFB

  • Reserve Bank of India vide its letter dated July 8, 2024, has conveyed its approval for re-appointment of Mr. Govind Singh as managing director and chief executive officer of Utkarsh SFB for a period of three years w.e.f. September 21, 2024,” the filing said. The present term of Govind Singh is up to September 20, 2024. 

Dr. Soumya Swaminathan Appointed as Principal Adviser for National TB Elimination Programme

  • India's Health Ministry has appointed Dr Soumya Swaminathan as 'Principal Advisor' at the Union Ministry of Health & Family Welfare for the National Tuberculosis Elimination Programme. Her appointment is on a pro bono basis. Prof Swaminathan was the former Chief Scientist of the World Health Organization. 

IEX approved the reappointment of Satyanarayan Goel as its Chairman and Managing Director

  • The board of Indian Energy Exchange (IEX) has approved the reappointment of Satyanarayan Goel as its Chairman and Managing Director for a three-year term starting August 10, 2024, The Current term ends on August 9, 2024. 

Gautam Gambhir replaces Rahul Dravid as head coach of Indian men's cricket team

  • Former Indian cricketer Gautam Gambhir has been appointed as head coach of Indian men's cricket team, Gambhir replaced Rahul Dravid, who led the Men in Blue to the final of the ICC World Test Championship as well as the ODI Cricket World Cup in 2023, before winning the T20 World Cup 2024 in June.

PM Modi Received Russia’s Highest Civilian Honour for Outstanding Service

  • Prime Minister Narendra Modi was ceremoniously presented with the Order of St Andrew the Apostle the First-Called, which was bestowed on him in the year 2019 at St Catherine's Hall of the Moscow Kremlin.
  • The order was presented to the Prime Minister of India for his distinguished contribution to the development of a privileged strategic partnership between Russia and India and friendly ties between the two countries. 

HCLTech's Roshni Nadar Malhotra conferred highest civilian award of France

  • Chairperson of IT services firm HCL-Tech, Roshni Nadar Malhotra, was conferred with the "Chevalier de la Légion d’Honneur" (Knight of the Legion of Honour), the highest civilian award of France, Instituted in 1802 by Napoleon Bonaparte, the Chevalier de la Légion d’Honneur is the highest civilian award given by the French Republic for outstanding service to France, regardless of the nationality of the recipients.
