- The Union Minister for Food Processing Industries Chirag Paswan inaugurated the 8th Indusfood 2025 at Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh on 8 January 2025. The first Indusfood was held in 2017 and it has been held annually since 2019 in Greater Noida.
Adani Group collaborates with ISKCON, to offer ‘Mahaprasad Seva’ to devotees

- Indian Squash prodigy Anahat Singh defeated Egypt’s Malika Elkaraksy to win the women’s Under 17 British Junior Open 2025 Squash tournament in Birmingham, England. Last year Anahat lost in the final to Egypt's Nadien Elhammamy in the Under 17 category.

Renowned journalist Pritish Nandy passes away
- Renowned journalist, writer, filmmaker, and former Rajya Sabha MP, Pritish Nandy, passed away at his residence in Mumbai due to cardiac arrest. He was 73. His final rites were performed yesterday evening. Pritish Nandy was known for his extensive writing in English, and he also translated poems from Bengali, Urdu, and Punjabi into English.

Walmart-owned Flipkart hires Dunzo co-founder Kabeer Biswas to lead Minutes
- Walmart-owned e-commerce firm Flipkart has roped in Dunzo co-founder Kabeer Biswas to lead the company’s quick commerce business, Minutes. He will collaborate closely with Flipkart's Senior Vice-President, Hemant Badri, and is set to begin on January 13, according to sources. Investors in Dunzo, which is currently facing financial difficulties, were informed by Biswas about his decision to leave the company.

- World Hindi Day, celebrated annually on January 10th, commemorates the global significance of the Hindi language, aiming to promote its use worldwide and foster cultural connections by highlighting its reach beyond India's borders; this day marks the anniversary of the first World Hindi Conference held in Nagpur, India in 1975, which was initiated by then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi to elevate Hindi's international presence.
