Q: Who is eligible for the NMAT Exam?

NMAT exam requires a graduation degree in any discipline. The MBA college accepting NMAT Scores may have specific CGPA requirements. Candidates still in their final year of graduation can apply, but they must provide a passing certificate at admission.

Q: Can we give the NMAT Exam from home?

The NMAT by GMAC exam can be taken online at home or at a test centre in India. In other countries, it is only available as an online proctored exam at home.

Q: Does NMAT have a negative marking for an unattempted question?

There is no negative marking for an incoorect or unattempted question in the NMAT exam.

Q: How is marking done in the NMAT exam?

The candidate gets 1 mark for each correct answer and 0 marks for any incorrect or unattempted question.

Q: Is 220 a good score for the NMAT exam?

A score of 230-240 is good (99th percentile) on NMAT Exam. A score above 200 is suitable for most colleges accepting NMAT scores, except NMIMS Mumbai &amp; Bangalore.es.

Q: When is NMAT cutoff released?

NMAT cutoff scores are released by the participating institutes during the admission process. Candidates have to apply for the desired b-school. Some of these institutes may or may not release the NMAT cutoff scores. Candidates must refer to the official website of the desired B-school to know about the cutoff scores.The overall NMAT cut-off level generally remains between 150 and 280. More than 40 B-schools across India and 20+ international B-schools accept NMAT scores for MBA admission. The cutoff scores and percentile changes across participating B-schools. Additionally, some colleges may seek admission based on sectional and overall cutoff scores, while some may only consider the overall cutoff.

Q: Which score will be considered if I took the NMAT exam twice in 2022?

GMAC allows candidates to appear for the NMAT exam up to three times during the 70-day test window. If a candidate takes the exam multiple times, the best score from the two or three attempts can be used to meet the NMAT cut off criteria.However, NMIMS accepts the score of only the first attempt.

Q: Is NMAT an adaptive test?

Yes, NMAT is a computer-based adaptive test. With adaptive testing, the test's difficulty adjusts to the candidate's performance, getting harder or easier after a correct or incorrect answer.

What is the NMAT exam?

Narsee Monjee Management Aptitude Test (NMAT) is a Computer-Adaptive Test conducted by the Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC) for admissions to some of the leading graduate business programs in emerging markets, including India, South Africa, the Philippines, Nigeria, and Morocco.
Being the most candidate-friendly MBA admissions exam, it offers the convenience and flexibility to choose dates as per convenience & improve scores with three attempts in a testing cycle.
The next date can only be scheduled after the first attempted paper.
Candidates are allowed to attempt retakes with a 15-day gap window.
Candidates can also reschedule the date and time of their NMAT exam within the 70-day test window.
It should be noted that NMIMS accepts the scores only on the first attempt at the NMAT.
The NMAT by GMAC™ exam registration and the school application process are separate steps. Registration for NMAT does not mean you have registered for NMIMS or any other college.

NMAT Exam Cutoff: How to download the NMAT Scorecard

You get your unofficial NMAT score immediately after taking the exam on your system as soon as you submit your exam.
The official scorecard is sent to you within 72 hours through E-mail.
The NMAT final scorecard, which contains details about scaled scores across all sections, is released a few days after the preliminary scoresheet.
Once the results are released, GMAC notifies students via an E-mail and posts that students can download their scoresheet using the below steps:
1. Log in to the official NMAT Website
2. Click on the ‘Login’ option.
3. Enter the username ID and password generated during the NMAT registration process.
4. Click on the Download option once you are granted access to the ‘NMAT Scorecard’ option.
5. Download the PDF and Print the hard copy, as students need to present this hard copy during the GD/PI rounds.

NMAT Exam Cutoff: What is the selection process?

The Selection Process based on the NMAT Exam Cutoff starts after the results are announced.

Neither GMAC nor NMIMS offers unified counselling.
Institutes that accept NMAT scores handle counselling differently, depending on their NMAT Exam cutoff, which is set independently by all institutes based on their selection criteria.
The selection process consists of different rounds of Group Discussion (GD), Case Discussions, Group Exercise (GE), and Personal Interview (PI).
Some colleges that accept students based on the NMAT Exam Cutoff also require a Written Ability Test of about 20 minutes to measure their ability to write and communicate.
Those who clear the NMAT Exam cutoff for their respective institute get forward to other rounds of GD-PI.
The selection process based on the NMAT Exam Cutoff is organised by the respective college, and GMAC has no stake in it.
