NMAT Exam Pattern 2024: Important Dates, Syllabus and Marking Scheme

Overview: NMAT is a national-level entrance test conducted thrice a year by GMAC. To prepare well for the exam, which is scheduled for November 5, 2024, you must learn and understand the NMAT 2024 exam pattern.

From the past few years there has been significant changes in the NMAT exam pattern In this blog we will look into all the format with the expected pattern for 2024.

What is the NMAT Exam?

  • Narsee Monjee Management Aptitude Test (NMAT) is a Computer-Based Test conducted by the Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC).
  • The GMAC NMAT Score is considered for admission to top business schools in India, South Africa, the Philippines, Nigeria, and Morocco.
  • Over 75,000 candidates participate in the NMAT entrance exam every year. Along with NMIMS Mumbai and its other campuses, over 50 other B-Schools to Accept NMAT 2024 Score for MBA Admission 2025
  • NMAT exam is considered one of the friendliest MBA entrance exams because candidates can take it thrice a year
  • The three attempts include the first attempt and two retakes. Once the first attempt has been completed, the retakes are only available on the dashboard.

NMAT Exam Pattern 2024

The NMAT 2024 Exam pattern consists of three sections - Language Skills, Quantitative Skills, and Logical Reasoning. The Narsee Monjee Aptitude Test is a 2-hour exam accessing a candidate's aptitude and analytical skills through 108 questions in total.

  • The language of the NMAT by GMAC™ exam is English.
  • The NMAT exam has a sectional time limit for each section of the exam. Unlike other management exams, the NMAT has different time limits for each section.
  • Each candidate has to answer the questions within the time limit. The NMAT exam allows candidates to choose the sequence of the test sections at the beginning of the exam.
  • The NMAT exam questions are randomly selected from a pool of questions. 
  • The number of questions and the difficulty levels are predetermined and the same for each section, regardless of when and where the test is taken.

NMAT Exam Pattern 2024: Marking Scheme

The GMAC NMAT exam format follows the following marking scheme to evaluate the candidate's performance in the test:

  • Every question carries three marks. For every correct answer, a candidate gets +3.
  • The NMAT exam does not have any negative markings.
  • Unattempted/unanswered questions lead to zero marks. 
  • After the candidate finishes a particular section, all answers are considered final.

Language Skills 

The Language Skills section of the NMAT exam pattern tests the candidate's language and comprehension abilities through questions on the following topics: Reading Comprehension, Para Forming, Error Identification, Prepositions, Sentence Completion, and Analogies.
