Eligibility Criteria for NID Ahmedabad Admission 2025

The eligibility criteria for admission to NID Ahmedabad vary depending on the program. Generally, candidates must have completed their higher secondary education (12th grade) or an equivalent qualification.  

The following are the eligibility criteria for the various courses offered by NID Ahmedabad

Bachelor of Design (B.Des.) 

  • Must have passed or sat in their 10+2 (or equivalent) examination from any recognised board in India or overseas. 
  • Age restriction for general category candidates is 20 years, while for reserved category candidates, it is 23 years. 

Master of Design (M.Des.) 

  • Must have a bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification in design, engineering, architecture, or a related discipline from a recognised university/institute. 
  • There is no upper age limit for M.Des. admissions. 

Doctor of Design (D.Des.) 

  • Must have a master's degree or equivalent qualification in design, engineering, architecture, or a related discipline from a recognised university/institute. 
  • There is no upper age limit for D.Des. admissions.

NID Ahmedabad Admission Process 2025

The admission process at NID Ahmedabad is competitive and requires an entrance exam, portfolio submission, and an interview.  

  • The entrance exam is called the NID Design Aptitude Test (DAT). The DAT is a national-level exam that is held every year. The application process for NID Ahmedabad admission is primarily online.
