Registration Process for UCEED Counselling & Seat Allotment 2025
You can register to participate in the UCEED exam counselling process for the B.Des program after declaring the UCEED Result 2025.
Admission will be based on your rank in the UCEED Merit List. You can estimate the marks you will likely score using the UCEED Answer Key 2025.
Step 1 - Application Form
You can apply for admission to the B.Des program at IIT Bombay, IIT Guwahati, IIT Hyderabad, and IIITDM Jabalpur on qualifying UCEED with valid scores.
There is a common application form for admissions to the respective B.Des programs.
The UCEED Office, IIT Bombay, will process the common application form and carry out the joint seat allocation process.
The common application form will be available through the IIT Bombay Admissions Portal.
The link for the same shall be available on the official website (www.uceed.iitb.ac.in).
You can fill in particulars and the best institutes of your choice by indicating the order of preference.
Step 2 - Upload Supporting Documents
To process your application, you must upload scanned copies of your signature, UCEED mark sheet, photograph, other educational documents, caste certificates (SC/ST/OBC-NCL Certificate, PwD Certificate, and OCI/PIO Card), etc.
After uploading documents, click on the 'Submit button.
The documents must be in PDF format of less than 500 KB.
Step 3 - Paying Processing Fee
Now, you must pay the registration fee of ₹3000 after completing all the details.
The registration fee for UCEED 2025 counselling can be paid online using net banking, a debit card, or a credit card.
Step 4 - Updating Information
Seat allocation will be based on the All India Rank (merit order), reservation category, and seat availability in each institute at the time of seat allocation.
You can edit your application form, including the order of preference of institutes, and resubmit it by the closing date of the application period.
However, all institute choices and information filled in the applications after the closing date are treated as FINAL. Requests for ANY changes in the application will be strictly NOT entertained.
Your application will be cancelled if you do not remit the seat acceptance fee before the deadline or decline admission. These vacant seats will be filled in the subsequent rounds of UCEED Seat Allotment 2025.
If you are allotted your FIRST choice of institute, you can either ACCEPT ('freeze') the choice or DECLINE the offer. If you choose to DECLINE the offer, you will NOT be considered for subsequent rounds.
Suppose you are allotted your SECOND/THIRD/FOURTH choice of the institute. In that case, you can opt to either ACCEPT ('freeze') the choice or ACCEPT WITH THE OPTION TO BE CONSIDERED FOR UPWARD MOVEMENT ('float') the choice for the subsequent round(s), if any, of the joint seat allocation.
If you choose the 'freeze' option, it means you have ACCEPTED the offer and do not wish to participate in further rounds of seat allocation, and you will NOT be considered in subsequent rounds of admission.
If you choose the 'float' option, it means you have ACCEPTED the offer and have indicated that you will accept admission to an institute of your higher preference. Otherwise, you will continue with the currently accepted institute.
If you choose the 'float' option, allocating a seat in an institute of your higher preference would automatically result in the forfeiture of the seat accepted by you in the earlier round.
You must remit the seat acceptance fee only once if offered a seat. Thus, those allotted another seat (because they chose the 'float' option) do not have to pay the seat acceptance fee again.
Suppose you have paid the seat acceptance fee and opted for withdrawal after the first round and one day before the announcement of the third round. In that case, you will get a refund after deducting seat cancellation and processing charges of ₹ 5000 (Rupees five thousand only).
Refund requests after the announcement of the third round will not be entertained, and no refund shall be given after that.
After the last round of seat allocation is announced, you do not have the option to withdraw an accepted/allotted seat.
No refund is given post the 3rd round as there is no option of "float" of the seats after the 3rd round.
If a vacancy remains after the third round of allotment, additional rounds of allotment may be held, depending on seat availability and the willingness of the participating institute.
This choice is only open if you choose the "FLOAT" option.
This supplementary round will be communicated to you via email and SMS.
