According to the Remainder Theorem, the remainder obtained when a polynomial P(x) is divided by x-a is given by P(a).
Using above theorem we get, P(1) = 4(1)^10 − (1)^9 + 3(1)^8 − 5(1)^7 + 𝑐(1)^6 + 2(1)^5 − 1^4 +1^3 − 4(1)^2 + 6(2) − 2
Equating the above expression with 2, which is the remainder, we get
= 4 - 1 + 3 - 5 + c + 2 – 1 + 1 – 4 + 6 – 2 = 2
∴ c + 6 = 5. Ans
