The Indian Institute of Management Vishakhapatnam uses a three-phase admission process to select candidates.

During this phase of the selection process, IIM Vizag considers various factors and provides weightage according to them.

IIM Vizag Admission Process for 2025-2027 MBA Batch 

The three-phase selection process of IIM Vishakhapatnam includes the following:

Phase 1: Initial Shortlisting of CAT 2024 Aspirants 

During Phase 1 of the IIM Vizag admission process, those CAT 2024 candidates who have mentioned IIMV as their preference in their CAT 2024 application form are shortlisted.

Finally, CAT 2024 candidates meeting the minimum eligibility and cutoff criteria will be shortlisted and receive an email to submit an online application form, including a Statement of Purpose and academic/work-related documents.

IIM Vizag Admission Process 2025-2027: Phase 2

This phase consists of the Composite Score Calculation of the shortlisted CAT 2024 candidates. During this phase, the IIMV analyses the Candidates’ academic performance, work experience, and professional qualifications, which are standardised.

• CAT 2024 Score: 50
• 10th Score: 10
• 12th Score: 10
• Bachelor’s Degree: 10
• Gender Diversity: 10
• Work Experience/Professional Course: 10

Based on the composite score, a second shortlist is created for the personal interview stage.

IIM Vizag Admission Process 2025-2027: Phase 3 

The third phase of the IIM Vizag admission process is conducting the Personal Interviews of the selected candidates.

Final selection weights:

• PI Score: 48
• CAT 2024: 25
• 10th Score: 4
• 12th Score: 4
• Bachelor’s Degree: 4
• Gender Diversity: 5
• Work Experience/Professional Course: 10

Note* 

Suppose you are shortlisted for a Personal Interview (PI) by any of the following IIM Bangalore, IIM Kozhikode, IIM Lucknow, or IIM Indore—for their PGP/PGPM programs. In that case, you do not need to attend a separate PI at IIM Visakhapatnam. 

Instead, IIM Visakhapatnam will use the average of your PI scores from the IIMs listed earlier as your PI score for the PGP 2025-27 admission process.

How to Apply for IIM Visakhapatnam Admission Process 2025-2027?

To apply to the IIM Vizag admission process for the 2025-2027 batch, here are the steps you can follow:

Step 1: Candidates need to visit the official application.

Step 2: Candidates must submit the necessary documents and the application form. 

Step 3: For the PGPEX application form, a non-refundable fee must be paid online through the ‘Online Fee Payment’ SBI link on the Institute’s website: https://www.iimv.ac.in. 

Step 4: The same INR 1000 applies to all categories for appearing in the IIMV test. 

Step 5: The IIMV test will be held online. 

Step 6: After reviewing the application form, candidates will be shortlisted and called for a Personal Interview. 

Step 7: Candidates must produce a “No Objection Certificate” at the interview. 

Step 8: Selection will be based on composite scores from the CAT/GMAT/GRE/IIMV Test, diversity, technical knowledge and domain experience, SOP, references, and personal interview. 

Step 9: The admission offer will be made to a certain percentage of applicants, depending on the availability of seats and their satisfying a minimum composite score cut-off.

List of Documents Required to Apply for IIM Visakhapatnam Admission 2025-27

To apply for the PGPEx program at IIM Visakhapatnam, you will need to provide the following documents: 

• Government-issued photo ID 
• Transcripts for SSC, HSC, and bachelor's degrees 
• Bachelor's degree certificate 
• Master's degree certificate (if applicable) 
• CAT/GMAT/GRE score sheet (if applicable) and IIMV test 
• Statement of Purpose (SOP) 
• Work experience letters/last pay-drawn certificates/authenticated salary slips 
• Caste/disability certificate (if applicable)
