CAT 2024 Result Percentile Calculation

The CAT percentile calculation is done in four steps:

• The marks are provided according to the correct and incorrect attempts.
• The total score is calculated by adding +3 marks for each correct answer while -1 marks are deducted for every incorrect answer.
• Lastly, the overall and section-wise scores are normalised to arrive at a scaled CAT score.
• The final normalised scores are then converted into percentiles that are presented in the CAT scorecards.

What to Do After the CAT 2024 Result?

Once the CAT result for 2024 is announced, the Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) will begin selecting candidates for the next stages: the Written Ability Test (WAT) and Personal Interview (PI). 

Each IIM will set its own minimum CAT cut-off scores. If your CAT score meets the cut-off, you must fill out an online form on the official IIM website you selected during your application.

Make sure to complete this form before the deadline to be considered for the next steps. The selection process will look at your CAT score as well as your academic performance in Class 10 and Class 12.
