The key changes to CUET UG 2025 have been revealed by the University Grant Commission (UGC). The purpose of the announced improvements is to increase the effectiveness of the CUET exam.

The CUET UG 2025 will include several significant modifications, such as:

  • Different exam mode
  • Uniform time duration for all test papers 
  • Fewer subjects
  • Shift from GT to General Aptitude Test, etc.

CUET 2025 Exam: Deleted Subjects

UGC has announced the removal of 20 foreign languages from section 1 and six CUET domain subject from section 2. The number of CUET exam subjects has been reduced from 63 to 37. Refer to the table below to know the deleted subjects:

Reasons for CUET UG 2025 Exam Changes

  • Due to recent issues, such as paper leaks in major entrance exams, the authority has decided to involve state governments in conducting exams.
  • These incidents raised concerns about the safety and fairness of the exam process.
  • To ensure transparency and security and create a stronger, more reliable system for conducting exams.
  • To make managing local challenges easier and ensure smoother and fairer exams for all students.

Conclusion

The NTA conducted the CUET 2024 exam in hybrid mode for the first time.
