According to University Grants Commission (UGC) Chairman Jagadesh Kumar, the CUET-UG will return to a computer-based format in 2025, and students will be allowed to appear for any subjects from the CUET domain subjects, language papers and General Test, irrespective of the subjects studied in Class 12.

Expected Date for CUET 2025 Exam Changes
The UGC will soon release a draft proposal for the CUET-UG and CUET-PG 2025 exam guidelines. The commission will invite suggestions from students, parents, teachers, and institutions to further refine the exam.
Learning from Past Experiences:
The 2022 and 2024 editions of the CUET faced certain challenges, including technical issues and logistical hurdles. The UGC aims to learn from these experiences and implement measures to prevent similar problems in the future.
The NTA conducted the CUET 2024 exam in hybrid mode for the first time. However, due to logistical challenges, the exam may shift back to CBT mode again. The UGC chief said that the draft with the guidelines for CUET 2025 will be notified soon, and suggestions from teachers, parents, students, and institutions will be considered for issuing the final revised guidelines.
