What’s New Changes in XAT 2025?
The XAT 2025 entrance exam comes with some major changes in structure that are important to know. Here’s a quick rundown of the major updates:
- Shorter Exam Duration: Reduced from 210 minutes to 180 minutes.
- No Essay Writing in Exam: The essay section has been removed and will now be part of the XLRI PI shortlisting process.
- Fewer GK Questions: The number of General Knowledge (GK) questions has been reduced from 25 to 20.
- Revised Question Paper Structure: The paper will now have only two parts:
- Part 1: Verbal Ability and Logical Reasoning (VALR), Decision Making, and Quantitative Aptitude.
- Part 2: General Knowledge (GK).
- GK Score Consideration: GK scores will play a role in the PI shortlisting stage.

- +1 mark for every correct answer.
- -0.25 marks for every incorrect answer.
